DIDN'T keep the LIGHTS on!
Got back to the room around 10:30 pm. Turned older TV on. Power went out. Maintainence came and turned back on. This happened several times. Finally went to sleep. Bathroom side still had no power.

Don't do it!!!!
We booked a room with 2 queen beds. We needed something just for an overnight visit. I've stayed in other Motel 6 locations without issues so I took a chance and it back fired. The pictures are not accurate. The property is not clean, carpet was the worst I've ever seen. Trash around the property, the parking is a joke. When we arrived and got to the room after check in they put us in a king room even though we book a room with 2 beds. When we questioned it they said that was all that was available. We had to find a hotel on a busy weekend in the same vicinity - had to pay for both locations because it took nearly a week to get a refund from Motel 6. Even if it's one of your only options like I thought for us don't do it!

Good for dogs, so so for people
The motel is ok if you need a last minute place. We have two dogs and most places charge pet fees and we waited until the night before to book. We didn't spend much time in the room, so it wasn't completely horrible. The immediate location is ghetto. It's surrounded by closed down motels and there are stray cats and dogs running about, but you're literally a min or two walk from the Great Smokie side of the Parkway. It's pretty rundown with missing signs, rust, wires dangling, and the balcony has a great view of trash and beer cans. The floors were stained, the room was musty, the shower was gross and there was mold all over the ceiling. The pillow cases and sheets appeared clean, but there were a few hairs that weren't ours. The old duvet cover had holes and the scratchy brown blanket between the sheets and duvet left us feeling gross. The pillows were extremely flat. The television was an old 30" tube set. Not sure about room service because we kept the do not disturb sign up due to the dogs. That being said, the room was pretty large, it had a new looking desk / drawer with a nice computer chair, the beds weren't lumpy or terribly uncomfortable, the mini fridge and microwave appeared new and worked well, the AC was cold, and we didn't spot any cockroaches. The pool seemed decent, but we didn't go in. One of the mornings there were Dunkin Donuts coffee and donuts in the lobby (donuts were gone by 9am and the coffee seemed watered down) and the lobby workers are friendly.

Spend the extra $30 and stay somewhere else.
Very sketchy neighborhood a few blocks off the main strip. Rooms were OK clean but the door shook all night from either the wind or someone jiggling the handle. Our view was the back of another hotel. People there were roaming the halls, playing on the luggage carrier all night and being loud. Marijuana filled the air nearly.24/7. Pillows were flat and lumpy. Mold in the shower.

Budget Friendly
It was a nice motel. It was more than what I expected for the price I paid. I would stay here again.
