Hotel de France, Vienna
We liked the location but it was almost impossible to use the internet. Our family was occupied in 3 rooms and none of these room had good WIFI, I had to sit in the hallway to get any signal since I couldn't get decent signal in my room, and hotel didn't make any effort to help the situation. As much as I liked other services, it will not be possible to stay at this hotel again unless they make improvements on their WIFI issues.

Wonderful December Visit!
Perfect location, near many historical sites. Friendly, helpful staff - front desk, valet, restaurant, housekeeping, all friendly and helpful. Warm, comfortable room (December visit). Breakfast -- many types of foods were available daily. Breakfast room is bright and inviting.

Split review :|
The overall stay was not good at this hotel: Pros: - the location of the hotel is great! - very close to public transport which in vienna is very good Cons: - mostly rude staff - the room was the size of a shoe box - i was asked by housekeeping what is a vanity kit (!) - no shoes in the room - no swimming pool nor spa (is that even a 5 star?) - trainees knocking on the door at 8am - they offered to change our rooms after we were unpacked and settled (we did not switch out of commodity and also we stayed in the room only at night to sleep) - no double bed, just two twin beds together - the overall feeling was 3 to 4 stars, definitely not 5

Great location for visiting Vienna,,, but.....
Great location for sightseeing in Vienna, a short walk (about 30 meters) to the Schottentor U-Bahn station and just across from a large pedestrian district, with lots of restaurants. If you choose this hotel, be sure and book the room with breakfast, as the breakfast buffet is quite pricey. The lowest hotel room category is superior double room, and the bed was just really saggy and resulted in backaches for us! The bed was not worthy of a four or five star hotel, we assume that the beds in the higher room categories are better. The room was spotless and very quiet. Staff were friendly. This is a big hotel and breakfast was quite hectic.
