Watch for mold in the air vent
The hotel room was fairly clean and comfortable with the exception of the sink, which wouldn’t drain, and the air vent, which was FULL OF MOLD! We we arrived I thought there was a funky dampness in our room (the cleaning staff, or someone, had left one of those little drying machines plugged in) so I peaked around, including in the air ducts. There was a spongy material lining the duct that blows the air back into the room, and was was caked with black and grey mold. It was late night when I noticed and our baby was alseep, so I just turned off the air so it would stop blowing mold all over us. I told the front desk in the morning, and she said she would tell the cleaning people. There is no way in hell any clean service person could or would do anything about this issue... you’d have to unscrew the vent and get new parts, clean the HVAC, etc. I’m guessing the entire hotel is having his mold issue and they are just papering over it rather than truly resolving it based on other reviews. The filter was also super filthy and looked like it hadn’t been changed in years. The “salt water pool” was also murkey and smelled weird (aka dirty).

Poor 2.0
Front desk staff needs better training, not customer service oriented at all. My personal CC was charged for the stay even though I had paid for the stay in full through the OTA I booked with. Rooms are not cleaned daily. Day 2, we were gone until 3 pm(we left around 7:30AM) and upon our return, the room had not been cleaned. I called down to the front desk and was advised that housekeeping has until 5 to get all the rooms cleaned. We went to the lobby and sat for approximately 2hours. The concierge (?) or bellhop approached us after we had been sitting in the lobby for quite some time and asked if we needed anything. I advised yes, our room cleaned. He then advised that rooms are not cleaned daily and that I was advised of this at check in. I assured him I was not and that if my room was not going to be cleaned, the least they could do was get some clean towels for us. Perfect example of where the staff needs to be trained better. This most definitely was a lack of communication on their part. Day 3- no hot water. Hotel is ok, however it no longer meets my standards as their ideal standards have been lowered. We have stayed here before, but will not return. Look elsewhere and if possible, book the Vandivort instead!

Eh, not great
The hotel has made a lot of improvements to the common areas (coffee shop and nicely renovated lobby / halls). I was hoping this would mean the rooms were also updated, which was not the case. The 2 rooms that we saw were both still shabby carpet, possibly some new furniture, but still old nasty bathroom tile, many nicks in doors and woodwork, ceiling old popcorn (ugh) and many yucky spots. The tub was stained and did not drain well. The first room we were placed in had no hot water. So we had to move after having unpacked and gotten situated the entire family and dog late in the evening. A good hotel would have done something for us for this inconvenience, but that did not happen. The second room, while it had hot water was exactly the same, shabby at best. It did appear that the couch and chair were potentially updated, but for the price they are now charging for pet cleaning fees ($25/day), I would have expected the rooms to be nicer. We have stayed at this hotel on and off for years because they have 2 nice pools (1 indoor, 1 outdoor) and used to have a nice breakfast which was included with the stay, but that is no longer the case. $12 for adults and $7 for children for breakfast now. The hotel was absolutely dead over the Christmas holiday (which was never the case before) and I can see why. Wifi was also terrible which is very odd considering the low number of guests. We will think twice before booking here again.

Great place, just get dinner somewhere else
Nice stay, but.... Food in the lobby area took over an hour. No one told us it was last call, so we were not able to get a refill for dinner. And to top it off, the food had no taste. The room was great, except the door the the toilet/shower swings in and it takes makes it difficult to actually get in the shower.
