Bethesda stay
Light switch in room 901 was faulty. Light would go on in middle of night. It's the switch by the sink beside bathroom. Also the plug to the right of the AC unit is loose and not all outlet worked. Electrical issues there!

Hard Work Cannot Rescue a Poorly Managed Hotel
VALET PARKING ONLY - $23/NIGHT. Critical piece of information not adequately communicated! Arrived at approx. 10:00PM and valet parking was full, so we were directed to the regular lot about 1 block away. In the meantime, valet agreed to hold our bags so we did not have to walk with them. Returned to hotel to find our bags, including PC, unattended in the lobby, right next to the door. The lobby was overrun with unsupervised teenagers in for a lacrosse tournament and the outside was overrun with other skateboarding teenagers. Inside, there was one obviously overworked desk attendant trying to hold the show together. She was very nice, just put into a no-win situation by poor management. THEN, we were told our guaranteed 2-bed room was unavailable and all other 2-bed alternatives were unavailable due to broken AC. So, we were placed into a 1-king suite (parent and adult child) and we were compensated with free breakfast. Got to breakfast at 9:30 AM the next day, and the desk attendant WAS THE SAME WOMAN - still trying to be nice and compensate for a very poorly managed hotel. BOTTOM LINE - Hard working employees cannot make up for lousy management. Stay somewhere else, this group does not deserve your money.

Decent stay. Room was nice and quiet, good view from the 14th floor. Room wasn't cleaned as thoroughly as I'd appreciate (previous customer's coffee pod was still in the machine, hair in the bathroom, etc. but nothing egregious) and the "free toiletries" are watery soaps in bulk dispenser things that are so bad I had to walk to CVS to get real shampoo/body wash for my second night. Room service forgot to bring me breakfast so they comped the late breakfast, appreciated. The pool was nice and actually not crowded so that was a pleasant surprise. I just went for a little staycation and for some pool time and it was definitely worth it.

A nice hotel, but rooms need refurbishing!
I had booked two Deluxe King bed rooms for my brothers who were visiting Bethesda for a family occasion. The receptionists were friendly and helpful; while they gave me cookies, one of them forgot to give my brother and his wife their breakfast coupons! The hotel does not have a good place to pick up and drop off guests; it has to be on busy Wisconsin avenue. My brother said that the carpet in the room was frayed and that the room, though comfortable, was in need of refurbishing.

Why A Handicap-Accessible Room?
I just needed a place close to my softball tournament after getting out of work very late. I called ahead to warn of a late check-in. I wonder if that's what landed me in a handicap-accessible room. I booked the hotel a week in advance. That didn't sit well with me. Plus, the shower practically flooded the bathroom floor. I used up all the towels just to try to sop up the water. The other problem: I was in a room along the wall that housed the rooftop HVAC equipment. LOUD ALL NIGHT. And I was only there for a total of 8 hours before checking out. I honestly think that if you don't ask for a handicap-accessible room, and you book early enough that the hotel isn't sold out, you shouldn't end up in a handicap-accessible room. I'm a perfectly healthy, non-handicapped adult. I feel like someone who is handicapped could've been looking for a place to stay and they couldn't offer them that room because they put me in it. Otherwise, the people were great. I just have a beef with the room I ended up in.
