Mouse in the house
This is a difficult review to write. One, the hotel is in a fantastic location (very short walking distance to great restaurants and the major sites) , the price i paid, i thought was great, the room seemed to be good, the service was good and everyone was very friendly. However, there was a mouse in our room that got into and ate the snacks we purchased for out trip home. I do realize that the hotel is old and in a city, so varmints are around. I did try to contact the hotel on my way home, i was on "hold" with the front desk on 3 separate occasions for about 45 minutes. I did call the wyndam main customer service number, but all they did was apologize. I also left a message with the hotel's customer service manager. I have not heard back. I have never had a mouse in my hotel room, that i noticed, before, so that is very disappointing.

Was disappointed as we expected more from a Wyndham hotel. There was no stand for our suitcase and the toilet paper was single ply

2/10 Poor

Torturous, mouse infested property!
Torturous stay! Hope that you like mice! The front desk staff were completely indifferent as to if I was there or not. No welcome. Just basically, are you checking in or not? When I checked in, which was only allowed at 4pm on the dot, I was given a queen room instead of the king room that I had booked. Of course I only noticed this when I got to the room. Nobody bothered to mention it when I checked in. It was a good sized room, so I did not bother making a fuss. But after I got comfortable in my room and started to do some work, I noticed that I was sharing my room with a mouse. Hopefully it was only one? I went to the front desk to let them know, and they nonchalantly said "I will get you another room". No apology. No concern. So I finally got my king room this time, which was smaller than the queen room??? For the rest of my stay I kept my feet off of the floor, so any new mice friends would not skitter along and chew on my foot. After reading some reviews, (too late), it appears that the mice issue is a long-standing problem that does not appear to be getting any attention. I have stayed at a Wyndham property for the very last time!

8/10 Very Good

Fantastic location and helpful front-desk staff and concierge, Chris. Restaurant seemed seriously understaffed, for both breakfast and nighttime drinks/dessert. After a rocky start, we had a great stay. Due to flight delays we arrived for check-in at 1:20 a.m., five hours late. There were no rooms. Despite our reservation, they were oversold by 30%. We were given a voucher for the Doubletree in Cherry Hill, NJ, and a voucher for a taxi to get there. When we came back to Wyndham Old City the next aft., we were apologized to profusely. (Apparently a flight crew whose flight was cancelled on our check-in day refused to vacate their rooms? Or when they did, it was too late to get them cleaned?) Anyway, we were reimbursed for our taxi back to Philly out of petty cash, and we were given vouchers for two complimentary breakfasts. Overall, highly-recommend, but hope the flight crew issue was a one-off, and hope they can shore up the dining room staff. Location was ideal for walking to historic sites and two blocks from SEPTA subway.

Best staff I have seen in awhile
I absolutely loved the staff there, especially Que at the front desk and Chris (the concierge). Que was amazing and let us get into our room early which was HUGE for what we had planned that day.
