Great Urban Hotel
Great downtown location close to restaurants, light rail and the Minneapolis Convention Center. A nearby street (Nicollet Mall) was under construction but there was very good signage directing us to Hotel Check-in and Parking Ramp. The hotel lobby and bar were very nice.

Still getting up to speed
The hotel is fine. But they seemed wildly ill prepared for a burst of check-ins mid afternoon on Sunday, day of an area football game. Check-in was allowed by 3pm. But even as we tried at 2:15pm, we probably would have been given a key to our room but they said it wasn't ready. Ok. But by 4pm, the room still wasn't ready and many of us waited in the lobby (spending $21 before tip on two coffees and two club sodas) to check in. The hotel is at the end of Nicollet Mall which was completely torn up for construction, so we were a slave to their mini store for a bottled water or snack. A bottled water was $5. So the rap that the price isn't bad, but they nickel you to death might be true. I would say the experience was ok. But not great.

I was unaware that I was in a smoking room and I don't smoke. Majority of the night my room smelled like cigarette smoke from surrounding rooms. It was consistently noisy from loud guests until 3 am. They were in the hallway. I wish the rooms were more sound proof. I had to get up early for a seminar the next day. In addition, this hotel charged me $27.00 to park my car over night. A bottle of water was $6.00. I did not get much sleep due to noise and cigarette smoke. The room itself was sufficient for my needs but to expensive for a 1 night stay.

Horrible hotel filled with cops and hookers

Great staff, poor amenities for the price
Hotel staff was great! They assisted in finding locations of bars, groceries and restaurants that fit our needs. They made us feel welcome and comfortable. Unfortunately, they were not enough value for the amount we spent on the room. During the 3 day 2 night stay, I failed to see a housekeeper at anytime. The fitness center was outdated, no continental breakfast offered, the wifi was lackluster at best and I may have caught a worm in my computer from signing into it. Also, the computer station in the lobby was out of order and several times there was no valet to assist in finding transportation. Luckily, the staff was available. There was a lot of construction downtown which made walking to destinations more taxing then normal, so be aware
