Front of hotel on corner...ugh. Appears this is where all the people staying there wanted to hang out, talk, and smoke. Plus, front of hotel on two busy corners was loud from all the local traffic.

Not worth it
Hotel is in a very sketchy area, despite the riverside location. For the price it was not worth it. We were excited to be next to the river; wasn't aware it would be surrounded by so much riff raff. Lots of activity in the early hours of the night. Police were called twice during the night for some kind of domestic issue, and again when a couple was arguing with each other trying to find their dog that got out. Despite acknowledging the police involvement, the hotel could not credit or discount our stay.

Very Good8.0
I was traveling with my son. We spent one quick night there. Dusty at the front desk was amazingly happy/friendly as well as the morning staff were friendly as well. Dusty grew up in Durango and could tell us all about it, where to eat on a late Saturday night, and gave us a coupon for a free Chocolate Dessert, but we were too full to use it. We ate at the Red Snapper where Dusty suggested and the food was amazing. Steaks/seafood. The location is great if you are looking to spend time in the historic area of Durango. It is 2 easy blocks to a lot of shops and restaurants. The room itself was a 5 or 6 out of 10. It was clean and comfortable, but dated. The continental breakfast was coffee and granola bars, so don't expect much there. To be fair we really were only in our room to sleep, and we slept well. It is an outside entrance. We were on the second floor and had to haul our luggage up the stairs. Good thing for a strong son to help me. No elevators there. We would stay again if we were passing through for the night because the front desk staff were very friendly and helpful, and it was clean and comfortable. Durango itself is worth it. The historic downtown had a lot of shops/bars/restaurants. The French bakery which Jean Pierre....oh my God, though expensive, the Croissants were to DIE for, but get there early. Just an FYI....much of the historic district was closed on Sunday which was unfortunate, we missed out on some good shopping I am sure. :) Have fun.

Party hotel
Very upset. The room on both sides of us had major drinking parties going on from 230 am to about 5 am.

Good Location - Needs Some Upgrades
Stayed for a weekend; good location for walking to downtown Durango; property could use some improvement - the hair dryer in the room was broken (they brought a new one), and the ice machine was broken; kids were looking forward to the indoor pool, but it wasn't heated.
