Amazing experience and stay

Not impressed
It is over priced for what you get. I could have stayed at best Western with a free breakfast for $50 less by the time the get done with the resort fees that tacked on at check out. The price looks good up front but I’m the first it’s more.

We always chose to stay at GSR when we are in town, overall the amenities can't be beat. The buffet is great, pizza and bowling downstairs, a movie theater, the pool, perfect! My only gripe... the almost $120 for three days stay of resort fees and other misc charges. I understand that is par for the course but it just feels a bit excessive.

Construction activity not mentioned
Construction work at the entrance made it difficult to get our luggage to and from our room. There was no valet service and no bell hop service when departing. We could not pull our car close, and we had to make 3 trips from our room to our car. You would think the hotel would have better solutions in accommodating its guests.

Could have been better.
The Grand Sierra Resort is a beautiful hotel, but unfortunately the construction at the main entrance made it kind of hazardous to get to the front desk to check in! Once we got past that our check in was seamless and not a problem. I do want to take issue with the room that we were in. Due to the fact that many of the lightbulbs we’re either out or did not work, the lighting in the room was so dim that we had difficult time trying to get ready to go anywhere. During the day it was not so bad as we could open the curtains to let in the light, but at night it did turn out to be a problem. Since our stay there was short I did not want to be bothered calling up housekeeping to get that issue addressed. Another thing that was a little maddening is that all the towels for our room were rolled up very nicely in huge bundles, but left on the sink vanity in a pretty display and took up almost the entire space! There were grab bars that we used for the towels but no shelving where we could put the towels so that we could spread out our toiletries. Also when I went to use the coffee maker, I plugged it in and went to the bathroom to get water to fill it and started hearing hissing noises. I rushed back to the coffee maker only to find that there was flood in the area where the coffee maker is kept. Mind you I had not added any water yet! All this may seem like small stuff, but it detracted from our stay. That was my reasoning for not giving it the full five stars.

I always love staying here for a quick getaway! Sometimes you just really need a night away alone ..away from the stresses of home! Order in room service and watch bad tv!!!!

Pretty cool
Staff was on top of it the whole time. Front desk text service was awesome and really came in handy throughout the night. Hotel also has a lot of options for those who do not want to go to casino.

Passing through.
There for a ballroom dance event. Great venue (food was excellent), but the cigarette smoke permeates the entire facility.

No dining after 9pm!
All restaurants close down at 9pm. I have never stayed at a gaming resort where your can't get a hot meal after 9pm.

Outstanding Hotel
The entire staff of the hotel and casino were friendly and helpful. The room was very comfortable, and when we discovered the remote control for the television didn’t work, a replacement was sent up right away. This was my second stay here, and bit have been outstanding, even in the Covid era.
