Older hotel, but worth the stay.
Good stay. This is an older hotel and it showed in our room. We were upgraded to a suite, which was nice, but it was full of old, worn furniture. But the room was so large that we didn’t need most of it. The bath was older plumbing, but worked fine. Our bedroom was perfect with a nice bed and furnishings. We’ve stayed at this hotel several times and we like the historic nature of the building so we are willing to overlook the cracks and worn furniture. The front desk person was very friendly and helpful which we really appreciated after a long international flight. The hotel is in a great location and is quiet. Good value for the room.

It’s ok.
Overall, it was ok. We booked it because of the charm but real life is much different than the photos. The room was dark, the light flickered and then there was a lamp that was ok. The outlet in the bathroom didn’t work. The wallpaper was in bad shape. The bed linens had holes. But the stay itself was ok, nothing went wrong.

Cool hotel. Good spot.
Cool hotel, great location. Low water pressure and plumbing was really old with toilets. Good place and value. Not much good food. Either fancy $$ or fast food it seemed in area

Not great but not terrible.
First of all, all the staff were amazing. Our sink was blocked our first night there, due to jet lag we called in the next morning and the handyman came right up.Towels/toothbrushes/hair dryer were provided when asked. It’s a shame you have to request housekeeping 24hr in advance. For the price, the hotel was in a great area. Everything is close by (within walking distance). The hotel needs a refurbish, I understand it’s sentimental and that they want to keep the vintage look, but upon getting out of the elevator, you could literally smell moth balls. The beds were very comfortable. The lighting in the room was awful. There were no plugs near the bed to charge our phones. Make sure when you request housekeeping, everything (clothing wise) is away from the bed, my friends bed didn’t get maid because she had a few clothes by the end of the bed. In all fairness, it wasn’t terrible but it wasn’t great. However, you get what you pay for. I would say if you’re travelling from England, pay in US dollars, once you put your card down as payment they still try to charge you after you’ve checked out.

Beautiful Chicago.
The hotel was central to the shops and restaurants, in the city centre. The rooms were spacious and comfortable. The only negative part was the blacked drain in the bath/shower, the water wouldn't drain during and after my shower, so my daughter couldn't use the shower afterwards, and had an early flight. I reported it to reception .
