The hotel restaurant, Elevations was awesome. Loved the Starbucks in the lobby and the room was clean with very nice, comfy sheets. I was surprised how outdated the room was and felt like the room was overpriced for the accommodations.

Great Employees, Communication Issue w/ Hotels.com
This is a swank, well-run hotel that for all I know might be the flagship of the Marriott Line. Booking details from Hotels.com don't show up very well on their end though, creating a minor daily aggravation. We had a family emergency and stayed here to be with relatives. At first the hotel had no confirmation of my pre-payment until I showed them my booking confirmation, but to their credit they moved us to a room close to family which was a great help. For our whole stay the employees were great, compassionate and understanding -I cannot compliment them enough; sad to say in our emotional state I did not make note of anyone's name, though we could single out the manager of the Elevations restaurant. However the communication difficulties with our Hotels.com booking details was a bit irritating. We had paid for breakfasts but had to re-confirm -only once because the maître d' remembered us later. At an upscale hotel there are so many extras and membership levels that not knowing what hotel records show gave me some anxiety about unintentionally running up room charges; fortunately we ended up with no surprises, but still. Another small complaint is the double nights e-mail click-through coupon from Hotels.com wasn't accepted at time of booking, and we were in too much of a rush to resolve it before our stay. Overall, this is a very good place and normally far above our accustomed lodging.

Worst experience at a Marriott
Very disappointing all around. Compared to other Marriotts we’ve tried, this location leaves much to be desired. First off, the a/c in our room wasn’t working and we had to switch rooms. Even though we got a rooom on the 14th floor, we could hear traffic below and the pedestrian’s crossing tone. Very annoying. The bed was not comfortable and we had the hardest time falling asleep. Breakfast, with the much touted omelette, was average at best. Restaurant staff were rude and kept asking us if our room included breakfast: we finally had to show the lady our room key so she would be satisfied and leave us alone (needless to say, she got no tip). Unbelievable! While leaving our room, we saw that a housekeeper had her cart with “clean” towels right next to dirty ones. We almost took a picture to show it to management, but decided to let it go and just write this review instead. If you have high standards and expect to get the real Marriott experience, you’d do well to avoid this overpriced, underwhelming property.

The unservice for the Marriott in SLC
I've stayed at the hotel for over 10 years.. The lack of service in the room was not good at all...asked for the room to be attended and wanted clear towels and got them but then I notice NO clean glasses after calling down for towels they made me feel like they were doing me the favor...really that's not good.ordered room service and requested for two cups for the coffee and of course the lack of service got one had to check order and request for the additional cup come on..

Not the Marriott experience
For the price this was not a good stay. I stay at Marriott hotels all over and this was the worst I have experienced for the price. The bed and pillows were not comfortable , the bathroom door had to be slammed to shut it, the room was old and just wasn't what I expected for a Marriott of that price.
