There is no any room has Capitol view in the hotel

When I booked the hotel, the hotel promotion mentioned that the hotel room had a view of Capitol Hill, and I did not hesitate to place an order. However, when I arrived at the hotel, the front desk told me that they did not have a room with a view of Capitol Hill and that it was just a promotional tactic, I felt I was seriously deceived. The front desk staff tried to reassure me that they were going to give me a room with a city view, but when I entered the room, the window faced a tall building and an intersection, but otherwise there was nothing to see, it was a room with a very bad view. The TV would lose its signal in the rain, the hotel fridge was placed next to the writing desk and was very noisy, the shower head was not connected properly and water would splash all over the toilet when taking a shower. The hotel does not offer valet parking, instead we were told to park our car at the hotel across the street for an additional $50 per day. Even though the hotel attendant said we only had to pay forty dollars with the parking card they provided, that card was not recognized by the parking lot machines and we had to pay the full price. When we met the service staff in the hotel corridor, they never greeted us, as if we were air. The décor is very old and the hallway lighting is very dim, which makes you feel insecure.

Almost eerily quiet hotel but clean and convenient for checking in/out. Downtown DC seems pretty slow at the moment. I didn't see or hear a single other person on my whole floor over 2 nights of staying there. Very close to the National Mall for sightseeing. $40/night for parking across the street is unfortunate but seems to be less than the going rate for downtown hotels.

The hotel was clean, our room was clean and very quiet, and the fitness facility/pool was sparkling clean and very nice. They had an excellent array of cardio and strength machines, exercise balls, free weights, etc, a locker room with clean showers and shampoo and the pool was clean and a comfortable temp.
