Walker's Paradise at a Budget Price
Had a great stay- customer service was strong and consistent throughout stay; room was small but plenty of space for 2 adults with a huge, super comfy bed; mini fridge was super useful, plus full size ironing board/iron and nice sized closet (could use a couple more hangers for overpackers/longer stays). Beautiful views of the city from our balcony. Bathroom was also small but well laid out with ample shelf and counter space for toiletries. The shower had AMAZING water pressure and got hot super fast. Housekeeping was great and consistently respected "Do Not Disturb" signs. FANTASTIC location: tons of wonderful restaurants just minutes' walk from the hotel; huge nearby shopping district; 25 min stroll to the ferry for Granville Island; Stanley Park a stone's throw away; access to everything. Down sides: room was drafty from the balcony. The sliding doors need new weather stripping. However there are heavy black out curtains that did a great job blocking both light and drafts when closed. The fan in the bathroom did not work either. I would absolutely stay at this place again!

Out-dated Landmark, but stay while you can
Very cool lobby and location. Room was visibly clean, but had a strange smell. Could have been years of cleaning products. Amenities and decor very outdated (70s era). I wanted to know who built the hotel and discovered it may be ear-marked for demolition by the property owners (very high-value real estate for hi-rise apartments). Also, the building is not seismically up to code. That may be why nothing has been upgraded. Wi-Fi was free, but terrible. Room was big enough and had great view. Seagulls were friendly. To bad it may be demolished, as no matter where I walked I could always see it. Cleaning staff and the desk staff were nice too.

My room was next to the door for the stairs and was constantly being slammed closed. Very noisy. The service in the restaurant was unattentive and over priced.

we stayed to enjoy the iconic restaurant with an amazing 350 degree rotating view of the city before the building is demolished

The hotel was clean and nice, there was a bus stop close by for access to the public transportation. Hotel is centrally located so there are lots of things close by, meaning less than $10 cab ride for most things. This hotel is located in the Asian district so there are not a lot of restaurants nearby that are not Asian themed. There are a couple but they are not inexpensive.
