hotel with tour groups
This hotel is huge and hosts tour groups so the lobby can be packed with people and luggage staff does a good job to clear them out but they have no time for extras for guest good security to get on elevators and guard in lobby (you wonder about this) but there may be a nightclub on the top floor only here for one night prior to cruise would stay elsewhere if prices were not so high room looks like a converted office or prior aprt. small kit (did not use0 OLD bathroom not a luxury hotel, 3* is pushing it but am comparing it to euopean standards

If you have another option -- take it.
The room was smaller than what was pictured but didn't feel like going downstairs and arguing to start the long check in process over again. Very dated. Missing piece on vanity faucet. Messed up wood on bathroom cabinet. Glasses (non wrapped) in bathroom so you clean them well with hot water. Only two bath towels. Bed is comfortable. The TV is large so that's a plus but the only plus. AC didn't cool down. Such potential. It's a Landmark hotel. Revolving restaurant on top floor had great food. Service - great once, pathetic the other time. It's relatively inexpensive but I've stayed in the same sort of price points but the condition was better. If you have another option - take it.

The beds were very hard and not confortable. We had to ask everyday for wash cloths and extra towels. Request a room on the upper floors that face the harbor.

The good and the bad
As much as I've been impressed by the grandeur lobby, I was disappointed with the room: small and strangely shaped with a low cealing and everything outdated. The air-conditioned was too loud on small speed so we only could use high speed and it bLee directly on my face, there's no way to change the flow. The lock was loose so every time the door to the staircase in front was opened, our door was making loud rambling noise. The first night we couldn't close the door at midnight because some stud got too loose and out so had to call the desk. The maintaince person came right away though. The location is amazing - close to everything.

Like visiting your rich old grandma
The ageneral if the place is evident, worn around the edges, but still a nice place to stay. In the heart of the West End, the balcony view was spectaculareally. An easy walk to anywhere - the museum, Stanley Park, the harbor, night life. Parking was $18Canadian a day, which was worth it for me, I just parked and left it safe and secure. The Cloud Nine restaurant is a must, night or day.
