8/10 Very Good

Nice hotel, terrible elevators
We decided to splurge and stay somewhere "fancy" for our anniversary, and this is where we ended up. The lobby was very nice. The room was good, but nothing spectacular vs. other places we've stayed -- not necessarily something I could justify spending the extra money for, except for the downtown location (we were on the 10th floor, but our view was of other buildings and HVAC units, not anything "Cinci beautiful"). The elevators were AWFUL!! Three elevators, and 90% of the time, only one seemed to be working. We would wait several minutes for the elevator to arrive, and then the car would be full, so we would have to wait for the next one. And they sounded terrible, too: loud pops, metal screeching, etc. They are obviously in bad shape, and we talked with several other guests who had the same complaints. We finally had to take the stairs on our check-out day, and there were several other guests in the stairwell with us, for the same reason. I mentioned this to the employee when we checked out, and she just laughed, and said, "yeah, we've been hearing a lot about that." No explanation, no apologies. Pretty disappointing.

2/10 Poor

Terrible stay
No air condition in the entire hotel. No valet parking available and only 2 of the 3 elevators worked and they was entirely slow. The stairs was only accessible from the 13th to the 4th.

6/10 Good

Hoping a better experience next time, if we return
The hotel needs some updates. This should be a nice downtown hotel for the money they are charging. The elevators, they were the worst. One was not working at all and the other 2 took forever. Seriously, we waited 20 minutes for an elevator at one point. The day we left we had to take the stairs because the elevators were so bad. We couldn't get out of the stairwell and about died doing all the stairs.

2/10 Poor

Not what we booked.
I requested 2 adjoining rooms when booked through Hotels.com. Because I have never used the special request section, I called the Hotel the day of prior to check-in to confirm the rooms were adjoined. The hotel had no record of the request nor did they have any remaining adjoined rooms. But we were told that the rooms could be next door to each other. Three hours later when i checked in the rooms were on different floors. I explained the situation and they were able to give me two rooms on the same floor, but at different ends of the hallway. I reserved 2 double rooms with a city view. I ended up with one king room with a city view and one double room with no view. We specifically wanted the city view so the kids could watch the NYE festivities outside. Disappointed all around by both Hotels.com and the Westin Hotel.

2/10 Poor

Horrible place to stay
Hotel would not give me room I booked. They told me I need to take it up with hotels.com because I booked third party. They gave me a smaller room for the same price. Then room has not air conditioning or cold water. Room was extremely hot and shower was scolding. When I called front desk they gave me excuses that they were working on boiler to get HVAC to work and told me the manager was indisposed at that time and couldn’t talk to me. Horrible hotel and I would not stay there again. Staff was rude and not helpful and seemed not to care about multiple issues.

10/10 Exceptional

Christmas at the Westin
Westin is a business hotel but was about 10% occupied over Christmas weekend. Only a couple of restaurants nearby but all were nice. Weather was brutally cold so many of the outdoor events were not held. Still it was a very nice room with great views.
