The best seafood restaurants in Langkawi offer a combination of well-executed delicacies, an extensive beverage menu, a relaxing dining experience, and great views of the Andaman Sea. As a popular tropical getaway, Langkawi's culinary scene features some of the best seafood in Malaysia, thanks to the abundance of fishing villages along the coastline.

Langkawi's top seafood restaurants are mostly well-established (and often packed) eateries within the island's busier districts, such as Pantai Cenang and Kuah. However, we have found a couple of hidden gems within Pantai Kok's traditional villages for diners who prefer a more tranquil setting. Read on to find the one that best suits your budget and preference.

    Langkawi Fish Farm Restaurant

Fresh seafood in a tranquil garden setting

Langkawi Fish Farm Restaurant is one of Langkawi's top seafood eateries, where diners can enjoy fresh and value-for-money seafood in a tranquil garden setting. Tucked away in a quiet part of Kuah, the hidden restaurant's indoor dining section is decorated with pirate ship replicas and fishermen's lanterns hanging from the ceiling, while the al fresco sea deck offers a nice view of the Andaman Sea.

For optimum freshness, Langkawi Fish Farm Restaurant allows diners to choose live seafood such as mantis prawns, lobsters, groupers, and crabs, all of which are kept in large aquariums. Highly recommended dishes here include the Nyonya-style steamed grouper, omelet with crab meat, and stir-fried vegetables with prawns.

    Kapal Layar Restaurant

Breezy dining over the Andaman Sea

Situated along Jalan Pantai Kok, Kapal Layar Restaurant is just a 5-minute walk from the Century Langkawi Beach Resort. There is no signage to indicate the restaurant, so just look out for a building with a massive ship replica set atop its roof.

Aside from its spacious indoor dining section, you can also opt for the breezy terrace area where you can enjoy a tranquil view of the Andaman Sea. It's one of Pantai Kok's best eateries due to its extensive seafood offerings in decent portions. Highly recommended dishes at Kapal Layar Restaurant are the squid fried in egg yolk, butter prawns, as well as salt and pepper squid.

This top spot in Pantai Cenang's bustling dining scene is located between Mali-Mali Beach Resort and Casa Del Mar Langkawi, making it incredibly convenient for guests of both beach resorts.

Similar to most Langkawi eateries, live seafood such as red snappers, mussels, oysters, tiger prawns, and flower crabs are displayed in large aquariums for diners to choose from. Prepared using local Chinese-style cooking, standout dishes at Happy-Happy Cenang Seafood Restaurant include fish ball vermicelli soup, wine tiger grouper, garlic steamed lobster, and salted egg crab.
