Hotels in Houston near Minute Maid Park

Minute Maid Park Introduction

Built to replace the Houston Astrodome, Minute Maid Park took over as the home of the Houston Astros Major League Baseball team in 2000. It holds more than 41,000 spectators and features Houston's first retractable roof. Located in Downtown Houston, the ballpark also hosts concerts and other sporting events. One of its more unusual features is a steam train that moves along the left-field side when the Astros score a home run or win the game. That's in homage to the fact that the stadium was built on the site of Union Station, whose old entrance is still used.
