"Boutique style hotel, with clean & relatively spacious ( by Japanese standards) rooms. Staff were courteous. Nice touch with an array of guest amenities eg hairbrushes, tea bags, face creams etc & eatery…Great location too , across the road from the Kyoto national garden & walking distance to bus lines that will take you to a number of local temples & shrines.."

"Understanding that it's a budget option business hotel and not a fancy resort, this place was amazing. Very cheap during rainy season, and the lady at the reception was very nice. She didn't speak a lot of English and we didn't speak a lot of Japanese, but we made it work. Our rooms were bigger than usual for Japan, even though it was cheap. There was a vending machine and free coffee in the lobby."

"I thought the environment and the staff were very friendly and cozy. It’s a short walk from any convenience store and Nishiki market is about a 15 to 20 minute walk. The onsen is definitely a plus after a long day of walking. "

"This lovely hotel is located 2 blocks from a city bus line. There are a variety of small restaurants nearby. There is even a karaoke bar-Bar Dam-that was a blast to sing at with locals. Overall, this was a fantastic place to stay and I would vacation here again."
