CenturyLink Field Introduction

A multi-purpose arena on the southern edge of Downtown Seattle, CenturyLink Field is the home stadium of the Seattle Seahawks NFL team and Major League Soccer's Seattle Sounders. Opened in 2002, the stadium can seat up to 72,000 guests, and regularly hosts special events, as well as concerts by some of the world's most famous recording artists. Adjacent to WaMu Theater and across from Safeco Field professional baseball stadium, CenturyLink Field offers sweeping views of the Seattle skyline and Elliott Bay. Stadium tours are offered on weekends from October through May, and every day June through September.

CenturyLink Field shares a block with WaMu Theater, a performing arts venue, and is across the street from Safeco Field, home of the Seattle Mariners baseball team. A 10-minute drive northwest takes you to bustling Pike Place Market, the historic public market featuring produce stands, craft stalls, and collectible shops, as well as waterfront attractions along Elliott Bay, including the Seattle Aquarium and the Seattle Great Wheel, a giant ferris wheel. About 2 miles north of the stadium are several popular attractions and museums, including the Pacific Science Center, the world-famous Space Needle, and the interactive Museum of Pop Culture.

How to get to CenturyLink Field

Within a mile of Interstates 5 and 90, CenturyLink Field is easy to reach from the surrounding areas and other parts of the state. It's less than a mile from the Seattle Ferry Terminal, with water taxis available to nearby islands. Seattle-Tacoma International Airport is 12.7 miles away. Amtrak trains arrive at King Street Station, across from the stadium. Public transportation is available, with light rail service offering Stadium Station, adjacent to both CenturyLink and Safeco fields. There's an extensive network of public buses running throughout the greater Seattle area. Most neighborhoods, including Pioneer Square and Downtown, are walkable.
