"This a simple hotel, no frills, but well worth it. The location is ideal. The staff are very nice. The rooms are very clean, nothing fancy. Everything works but I give the room a C; A/C unit was a little loud and blue directly onto the bed (I placed the rolling desk chair in front of it to deflect the breeze). The bath/shower selector did not work well, so the shower flow was a little weak. However, the bath/shower was very clean, no sign of rust or any other unpleasantness. The bed was clean and comfortable, although the pillows left a little something to be desired.
The complementary breakfast was appreciated; simple, but entirely adequate. The breakfast staff were pleasant. The biscuits at breakfast were some of the best I’ve had. My companion told me that the coffee was under par. I did not utilize the remainder of the dining options.
The fitness center was minimal, with a stationary bike, a treadmill, and a set of weights. Still, that’s all most people need.
It is conversion of an old motel, and I don’t know if there’s any elevator access to the second floor. All rooms open onto the central court area/parking lot.
I rated the hotel “good” because, overall, it is an excellent value for the money. But it is not luxury in any sense. Still, I would stay there again."
"The hot morning breakfast was great! It saved us a lot of time in the morning before heading out for the day. There was enough variety to keep everyone happy.
The room was extremely clean- but was one of the rooms that had not been updated yet. Still nice and well maintained but had a dusty smell that comes with carpeted hotel rooms. From the booking site, the remodeled rooms have hard floors. If this is something important to you, book directly with the property.
The location was very central to Old Santa Fe Plaza, so we often left our car parked when going to that part of town. "
"We had a lovely stay at La Fonda! The location was perfect and we enjoyed everything there was to do and see in the Plaza area. We loved our room with a beautiful view of the church and a very comfortable bed. The staff were welcoming and knowledgeable. Our quick trip to Santa Fe was just what we had hoped. We definitely recommend La Fonda on the Plaza!"
