A 5-minute walk from the main campus is the popular Hefner Zoology Museum, which houses some 53,000 specimens. Meanwhile the Miami Redhawks American football team play at the city's main Yager Stadium, which is a 17-minute walk from campus. Many students head out of town to explore Hueston Woods State Park, which lies 4.6 miles north of Oxford, or make a trip into downtown Cincinnati, some 40 miles south.

How to get to Miami University

Miami University sprawls across the center of Oxford and is easy to reach from all four corners of town. If you're driving, Highway 27 runs right through the center and past the main campus. There's also a busy bus route run by Butler County Regional Transit Authority (BCRTA), which connects the university campuses, the bars and coffee shops in the center, and the indoor sports arenas and football stadium. The university also owns Miami University Airport, a small public-use airport 2.5 miles from campus.
