A volcanic island, with rugged coastal scenery and immaculate sun sets, Santorini boasts ancient history, quaint architecture, idyllic dining experiences, and ribbons of picturesque beaches.

Like much of the island’s accommodation, the hotels near Santorini National Airport range from lavish spa retreats and glossy magazine-style villas, to rental apartments and more affordable options. Where to stay

Gingery laid out high on coastal cliffs, the island’s capital Fira is a picture-perfect scene of stark white Cycladic architecture, contrasting against the blue of the sea. It’s home to numerous restaurants, bars, and shops, as well as ancient history at the Museum of Prehistoric Thira. Two kilometers away, the petite town of Imerovigli is known for its sunsets, and the blue dome-topped Agios Nikolaos Monastery.
