The hotel is in a good location right on the beautiful beach, excellent restaurant the food is great sorta of a limited menu is the only down side but if u are craving something other than what is offered it within walking distance to shops and restaurants. "We have stayed here several times on our trips to Charleston. It is closer to the beach and the Shem Creek hot spots, and it is significantly less pricey than the hotels in the historic district where we used to always stay. But the selling point for me is the pool area and indoor/outdoor bar and restaurant, which is more resort-like than the rest of the hotel. Big props, too, for having free sparkling water in the lobby!"

"The breakfast bar was great. The staff were professional and pleasant. The hotel has some years on it but it is well maintained. I found it interesting the it was originally part of the Citadel Military Academy. I found the architecture quite interesting. The location is great in historical Charleston. It is within walking distance of many interesting and entertaining places. Check out King Street, the Charleston Museum, the South Carolina Aquarium, and visitors center. A word of warning to...

"One of the hotels where the room is on the smaller side but the lobby and the amenities compensate for that. Perfect for my needs as a solo traveller. Starbucks on the ground floor. Situated on the Eastside in Downtown Charleston closer to restaurants and bars I wanted to hang out in. Would stay there again."
