Utapao (UTP-Utapao Intl.) Hotels

U-Tapao International Airport (UTP) is the small but dazzling gateway to Pattaya, a city steeped in green-rich gardens and copper-flecked temples, that also doubles-up as one of Thailand’s most popular beach resorts. Behind the airport’s sleek-black exteriors you’ll find an expansive duty free shop and artisan jewelry store. There’s also a relaxed restaurant, cool coffee shop - with a palm-shaded seating area - and a retro post office, located in a quirky converted shipping container.

Hotels in Utapao (UTP-Utapao Intl.)

Most of the hotels near U-Tapao Airport provide affordable mid-range accommodation with outdoor pools, spacious air-conditioned rooms, and handy amenities, like free WiFi. For a lavishly luxurious haven, stay in an upper-end boutique resort hotel, and enjoy their spa services and rooftop terraces.

Where to stay

For an energetic sun-soaked paradise, stay in central Pattaya, and enjoy the unblemished sands of Pattaya Beach. At night, this area comes alive with live-music bars, neon-lit clubs and buzzing restaurants. For a family-friendly atmosphere, stay south of Buddha Hill, and enjoy the quieter Jomtien Beach. Visit the enormous Buddha statue atop the hill, and amble around the flower-rich grounds of Chaloemphrakiat Park.

How to get to Utapao (UTP-Utapao Intl.)

U-Tapao Airport only serves a limited number of charter flights from a variety of global destinations, such as Seoul, Hong Kong, Shanghai, and Novosibirsk. Once you arrive at the airport, the easiest and cheapest way to travel the 30 kilometers to Pattaya is by pre-booked minibus or taxicab, and the drive will take about 30 minutes. You can also hop on a public bus - there’s timetables at the airport - but this will take a while longer.
