Gateway to the "Jewel of Kedah", Langkawi International Airport (LGK) is just an hour’s flight from Malaysia’s capital, Kuala Lumpur. Serving several of the country’s hubs, the airport is perhaps best known for hosting the Langkawi International Maritime and Aerospace Exhibition. Situated on the archipelago’s largest island and boasting a glittering sea view, Langkawi’s main town Kuah is less than 20 minutes away.

Cenang Beach is the main vacation haven however, and boasts a long stretch of white sand, cushy seafront resorts, and many bars and restaurants.

How to get to Langkawi (LGK-Langkawi Intl.)

While it primarily serves flights to and from Kuala Lumpur, Langkawi Airport also provides direct scheduled services to other cities in the region. As such, it’s a fairly easy airport to connect to if you’re coming from further afield. Once you’ve arrived on the island, a taxi is the most efficient method of getting to your hotel, while car rentals are available too. Alternatively, many hotels provide the convenience of an airport shuttle with prior arrangement.
