Sesame Place Introduction

For fans of the famed children’s TV series Sesame Street, Sesame Place is popular attraction. This theme park, based on the TV series, offers educational fun for kids and adults alike. With lots of soft play and rides, the park also has a water attraction featuring Bert and Ernie’s ‘slip and slide’ flumes, as well as Big Bird’s rambling river. There are a variety of shows to keep all the family entertained. The park has a range of eateries, and there are also a variety of fast food outlets and chain restaurants close by.

A few of the 3-star hotels have pools and restaurants, and there’s an all-suite option. If you prefer to stay nearer to Philadelphia, the park is partnered with several city hotels, all offering shuttles to the park. Because of the water attractions, the park and nearby hotels are busy in the summer. May and June are a little less busy. Many families visiting the park stay in nearby Langhorne, and there’s a budget motel option in the nearby Fairless Hills area. With fairly limited attractions in the local area, you might choose to combine a trip to the park with a visit to Trenton (7.9 miles away) or Philadelphia (27.4 miles away). In both, you’ll find many more upscale alternatives. Closer, there are more refined options north of Core Creek Park in Newtown. North East Philadelphia has a wide range of accommodation options with some airport hotels, and there's also a cluster of hotels off Interstate 276.

Things to see near Sesame Place

Sesame Place is next to Oxford Valley Mall, which has a food plaza and many shops. For the latest film releases, the United Artists Oxford Valley movie theater is next door to the mall. It offers plush seating and is 18 minutes’ walk from Sesame Place. If you take a leisurely 23-minute walk eastwards, you’ll find a cute adventure golf course. A bit further afield is Core Creek Park, which is set 3.6 miles northeast. You'll find walks and picnics there, plus playgrounds, tennis courts, and a lake.

How to get to Sesame Place

Sesame Place is located off Interstate 95 in Bucks County, Pennsylvania, and is easily accessible from most major cities. There’s parking available at the park for a fee. Trenton railway station is 7.1 miles away. From Trenton station, the 127 bus takes about 40 minutes, or it’s a 15-minute taxi ride to the park. Alternatively, Woodbourne station is just 1.9 miles away. If you’re flying in, Northeast Philadelphia Airport is 14.5 miles away, or further afield, Philadelphia International Airport is a 35-mile drive.
