What's Risoul Like?

The town is sometimes calle "Risoul 1850" because it is located 1850 above sea level. This makes it a perfect skiing destination, featuring hundreds of km of ski slopes. Skating, snowshoe and ski-doo rides are other popular activities in this snowy resort town. Lively Risoul offers up to 300 days of sunny weather each year. The areas of the town not dominated by the resort offer quieter bars, restaurants and areas to hike and walk during the warmer months. At the Church of Risoul you can unravel some of the town's history and soul. Also take a day trip to Saint-Nicolas et Sainte-Luce Church which dates back to the XVI century, the Saint-Claude and Saint-Jacques chapels and Rotonde du Plan de Phazy which is where sulphur water can be found. It is located close to the largest man made lake in Europe, the Serre Poncon.
