Where to stay in Pattaya
Pattaya Beach Road is a bustling area brimming with family entertainment options and some of the most popular family hotels in Pattaya. Sit back and relax on the white-sand beaches while the kids enjoy a swim, or head off for the day to visit the many attractions and museums that line the main street. Naklua Bay is where you’ll find some of Pattaya’s best family resorts. From dolphin training shows, horse riding, and even elephant riding, this tranquil area north of Pattaya Beach offers plenty to keep the little ones occupied. South Pattaya is a great base if your older kids are into high-octane activities—with go-karting, paintballing, and water parks right on your doorstep, one thing’s for sure, they won’t be bored!
How to get to Pattaya
Although Pattaya has its own airport, it serves domestic flights only so most visitors fly into one of Bangkok’s two international airports—Don Mueang or Suvarnabhumi. Both are just a 2-hour taxi ride from Pattaya. Suvarnabhumi Airport provides direct shuttle buses to most Pattaya hotels for about the same price as a taxi—a good hassle-free option for families with small kids. Within Pattaya, keep an eye out for Songthaews—pickup trucks that have been converted to taxis and a very common way of getting around Pattaya.
