Amway Center Introduction

You can catch a basketball game at the Amway Center, home of NBA's Orlando Magic basketball team in Orlando, Florida. Originally called the Orlando Events Center, this modern indoor stadium opened in 2010 and has been the home court of the premier Orlando Magic team since. The 20,000-seat stadium also hosts ice hockey events, arena football and concerts. It's in a prime spot a few blocks west of Downtown's vibrant Central Boulevard, where you'll find lively sports bars, nightclubs and stylish restaurants. It's also a 12-minute walk from Downtown Orlando City Hall and the Dr. Phillips Center for the Performing Arts.

Orlando is regarded as the theme park capital of the world. The big hitters, Universal Orlando Resort and Walt Disney World Resort® lie 8 miles and 17 miles respectively, southwest of Downtown.

How to get to Amway Center

The Amway Center is easy to reach from all areas of Orlando. It's situated just off I-4, the main interstate through the city. It's 4 minutes' walk from the modern Church Street station, for the SunRail suburban train line, and 1.1 miles from Orlando Station for Amtrak services to the rest of Florida and New York City. Downtown Orlando is easy to explore on foot; you can also hop on the LYMMO, a free bus service which stops at most city attractions, including the Amway Center and City Hall. Orlando International Airport is 13 miles southeast of Downtown.
