Staples Center Introduction

Hosting over 250 events and nearly 4 million guests each year, the Staples Center forms part of a huge 4 million-square-foot entertainment complex that includes L.A. Live and the Los Angeles Convention Center. The arena is home to 2 NBA teams - the Los Angeles Lakers and the Los Angeles Clippers, as well as hockey and women’s basketball sides. It's the regular home of the GRAMMY Awards and has welcomed top acts in music such as The Rolling Stones and Prince. Outside are statues of famous sports stars including Magic Johnson and Oscar De La Hoya.

Hotels near Staples Center

Since the Center is in Downtown Los Angeles, there are lots of hotel options with quality ranging from basic to the ultimate in luxury. Prices are generally high - although there are 1-star hotels near the venue, the cost of these is comparable to 4-star hotels in many other towns. There's a 5-star hotel within the complex with luxe marble bathrooms and 400-thread-count linens, as well as a destination Chinese restaurant and chic rooftop bar. To get a good deal, go in the winter, but although temperatures are relatively mild, it can be wet. Look out for price rises created by big conventions, concerts, or sporting events.
