Jacksonville Hotels

The largest city in the sunshine state of Florida, “River City by the Sea” Jacksonville sits on the picturesque St. Johns River, gilded to the east by mile upon mile of blissfully uncrowded beaches. A destination for seaside R&R and urban hijinks alike, you can enjoy the bright lights and buzz of the riverfront downtown, stroll historical neighborhoods, explore the city’s vast park network, or get stuck in to an array of family-friendly attractions. From golf and hiking, to fishing and watersports, recreation abounds too.

Things to see

Jutting right out into the Atlantic Ocean, Jacksonville Beach Pier is a prime beauty spot for watching the city’s vivid sunsets. It’s also a fruitful fishing hub, with a bait and tackle shop for the many anglers that come to while away the hours. One of the most popular tourist attractions is the Jacksonville Zoo and Gardens. Home to over 2,000 animals, the sprawling site incorporates themed areas, from the ‘Plains of East Africa’, where you can view lions and rhinos from an elevated walkway, to the ‘Wild Florida’ exhibit, which houses a menagerie of native critters. For budding scientists of all ages, the Museum of Science and History is as fun as it is educational. Packed with colorful exhibits, you can walk through an oversized mouth and explore the digestive tract, or venture through space in the museum’s state-of-the-art Planetarium. For fans of the Jacksonville Jaguars, EverBank Field football stadium is the only place that’ll matter.
