Laughlin Hotels

A budget-friendly Vegas just 90 miles south of the real thing, you’d be wrong to dismiss Laughlin as just a second-rate version. Whilst it lacks the iconic sites, big names, and the showy glamor Las Vegas is known for, it provides a family-friendly alternative with plenty of wholesome activities besides gambling. Lined with the town’s casinos, the rippling Colorado River lends itself to swimming, boating, and fishing, whilst the surrounding desert scenery and natural parks provide plenty of hiking opportunities too.

Things to see

The casino hotels in Laughlin offer lots of options for gamblers, with the Colorado Belle Casino being the most visually striking in town. Designed to look like a 19th century Mississippi riverboat from the water, the hotel’s 65,000 square foot gaming floor boasts over 1,200 slot machines. Just up the river, the towering Tropicana Casino Laughlin offers an action-packed casino floor too, with slots, table games, and a state-of-the-art bingo hall. It’s also home to the Pavilion Theater which plays host to side-splitting stand-up acts and popular Broadway shows. Housed within the Riverside Casino, Don Laughlin’s Classic Car Collection is an enviable must-see for auto enthusiasts. With over 80 glossy vehicles on display, the collection even includes a motorcycle once owned by Steve McQueen. Just south of town, the Big Bend State Recreation Area is a mecca for outdoorsy types. With trails that weave through the rugged terrain, it also provides boaters with easy access to the Colorado River.

Where to stay

Whether you want to dine out, shop with your winnings, party, or be pampered, Laughlin’s casino hotels have the town’s best amenities right on-site. Should you want to dine elsewhere or try your luck in another casino however, the Riverwalk provides a picturesque route, with glittering views of the waterway. Out of town lovers of the great outdoors will find no shortage of exciting places to visit, from Grapevine Canyon, known for its centuries-old Indian markings, to the Colorado River Heritage Greenway Park and Trails, which offers excellent hiking and biking opportunities. For golfers, the surrounding area is home to some top notch courses, too.
