Page Introduction

Boasting a spectacular location on the southern shores of Lake Powell, Page is a perfect base for discovering the national parks and monuments of the Southwest. This unpretentious city, built in the 1950s to house workers from the Glen Canyon Dam, has blossomed into a gateway to the Glen Canyon National Recreation Area and Lake Powell. Culturally, it’s pretty impressive too; the unspoiled corner of Arizona in which it’s located is a popular shooting location for movies and TV series like 'Planet of the Apes' and 'Superman', and it also offers a revealing introduction to the unique culture of the Navajo Nation.
