"truly majestic place, this feels like an oasis. The resort is well maintained and has amazing amenities. You really dont need to leave the resort if you dont want to.
The staff is very friendly and there are constant trollies to take you around the resort.
The beach and pool areas are well kept."
"Beautiful and nostalgic location. Very Frank Sinatra like. Established in 1958 and parts of the room were in need of repair and showed it.
No water in San Juan impacted the pool. Pool staff was great; however, towels and chair covers were stained. Not what I expected from this hotel.
Staff was notvthe friendliest in many cases, especially when checking in, felt like we were bothering when asking for service.
This seemed to be the case throughput the libby and bars.
Ckeaning crew and the tewm was the total opposite. Very attentive and welcoming.
Very hit and miss.
On the positive sid3, I strongly recommend the Meat Market restaurant, felt like all the good servers were in this location.
The pizzeria was also great.
Make your own decision, but felt the hotel has lots of potential for growth and needs to work together to provide a better experience for traveler's. Tourism is critical for this economy, surprised to see the poor customer servuce at times.
Expected better for the premium paid.
Will consider other locations to compare next time."
"I'll start with positives: room was cleaned every day. Food at the restaurants was good.
The cleanliness of the pool and surrounding area was definitely a big issue. We got to the hotel and Thursday night and Friday pool was very clean but after that it wasn't touched. By Monday you had plastic cups sunk at the bottom of the pool, lots of sand, napkins floating etc. I brought it up on Saturday to the staff with the hopes that they would clean it but we left the property without anyone touching it."
Wyndham Grand Rio Mar Rainforest Beach and Golf Resort
8/10 Good
"We had a very comfortable stay at the Wyndham Resort in Rio Grande. The room and bathroom were both extremely spacious, which made the stay feel relaxing and luxurious. We were upgraded to a pool/ocean view room, and the views added so much to the experience.
The resort has great amenities and overall felt like an easy, enjoyable place to spend a few days. One thing to keep in mind is that rooms near the pool area can get a bit noisy at times, so if you’re looking for a very quiet stay, it may be worth requesting a quieter room location. Overall, a great stay and a beautiful property.
The only thing that was personally a bit displeasing to me was that the resort had somewhat of a “Vegas” vibe , with the casino, club atmosphere, and loud music. That may appeal to many people, but if you prefer a quieter, more laid-back environment, it’s something to keep in mind."
