Where to Shop in Cheltenham - Upscale Boutiques, Independent Shops, and a Bustling High Street

Hotel search

Cheltenham's shopping scene is eclectic and fun, offering everything from upscale designer boutiques to popular chain retailers. Check out The Promenade for modern stores in historic surrounds. Or you can head to Montpellier shopping district, where chic elegance rules thanks to a number of exciting independent stores. The city's High Street is chock full of popular brands to suit most tastes.

Strolling on The Promenade

The leafy avenue known as The Promenade was established in 1818. Flower beds and public artworks, like the 19th-century Neptune statue, decorate the area, creating an atmospheric vibe in which to shop. You'll find upscale boutiques like that of London-based women's fashion designer Karen Millen, as well as family-owned precious metal jewelers Hooper Bolton. There are also more familiar brands represented, including French beauty chain L'Occitane and women's fashion retailer Monsoon.

The Brewery and retail parks

On the site of a former brewery from 1760 is the Brewery leisure complex. This popular mall houses numerous restaurants, 2 premium movie theaters, and a large bowling alley. From here it's a 10-minute cab ride along Tewkesbury Road to 3 adjacent retail parks: Centrum Park, Gallagher Retail Park, and Cheltenham Kingsditch Retail Park. Hopping between the 3, you can shop for everything from organic delicacies at Whole Foods Market to the latest fashions at Next and Outfit.

The period architecture and tree-lined streets of Montpellier's shopping district make it an excellent spot to spend a leisurely afternoon in Cheltenham. Head to quirky Pink Vintage for one-of-a-kind vintage items, including fashion accessories and home decor, as well as some of the best coffee in the city, which you can enjoy in their garden.
