Hotel Madison

10/10 Excellent
"I arrived early and the staff allowed me t store my luggage until the room was ready. All front desk staff that I interacted with were English speaking and the girl woman that I spoke to went ahead and completed the check in process so all I had to do is grab my room key when I returned. You do need to leave your room key at the front desk whenever you leave the building which I found odd but was not an inconvenience. The room was clean but basic (what I expected for what I paid) and the bathroom had a seperate bidet. The shower was a rain shower and the water was hot. It also had a wand attachment that I could not remove from it's holder. The elevator is pretty old and rattles a bit but nothing that would give you any concern. There was a breakfast each morning that consisted of scrambled eggs, bacon, assorted breads, cereals drinks and yogurt so plenty to choose from. Location is this hotels bonus, it is directly across the street from the train station so very little walking to get to the hotel from there and getting around via train to other locations and the airport is easy. It's about 1-1/2 miles to the colosseum and a bit shorter to the Trevi Fountain and the Panntheon so if you're fit it's worth walking (or you could take one of the lime electric scooters or e-bikes to get around which are quite popular). Rome is loaded with shops and restaraunts so you don't have to go far to find these from the hotel, keep in mind that some of the restaraunts only take cash."

"Our first time in Rome and glad we stayed here instead of city center. There are several restaurants and bars nearby and yet our room was quiet (which was much appreciated). Staff was helpful and rooftop bar was a nice touch for apertivo or night cap. Hotel smells lovely too Would stay again! Minor inconvenience: parking but we were directed to nearest parking garage. We tried to order room service two days in advance row but they never brought us the card to order in advance even when we went to the front desk to ask for one. Our room faxed the courtyard which I would’ve changed if we stayed more than our 2 nights bc I’m claustrophobic but it worked well for the quiet."

"The property is in a building a couple of blocks, on a back alley, not in front y of the panteón as advertised so that felt deceiving when we arrived. However, the room was big, and modern, and of course in a great location. They should said that form the beginning and that will be ok. There is nothing wrong with please except the misleading."
