Learn more about Vik I Myrdal
Black sand beaches stretch beneath towering basalt sea stacks at Reynisdrangar, where the Atlantic crashes with dramatic flair. Dyrhólaey's natural stone arch frames perfect views of the coastline, with summer visitors treated to comical puffins nesting on precarious cliffs. The nearby Hálsanefshellir Cave offers shelter from unpredictable Icelandic weather after beach explorations. This tiny village serves as the essential service hub along this stretch of southern coast. The Barn - Hostel
"First time staying at a hostel and it was a great experience! The Barn is very clean, modern, and has convenient amenities like daily refresh of towels, slippers during your stay, a bar on site, plenty of seating to relax, and they offer bar snacks up until midnight. The bed was also super comfy. We enjoyed opening the window and having the fresh Icelandic air come in. I would stay here again!"
Hótel Kría
"We love Foss hotels. The friendly staff, happy hours, breakfasts, optional dinners, locations with stunning views, and overall comfort of the rooms were all perfect. So quiet! I also like the values of the island hotels chain, of which Foss hotels is the biggest, are portrayed in our experiences with each stay."
Hotel Katla by Keahotels
"Complimentary breakfast was excellent"
Paradise Cottages
"Such a wonderful little cottage away from the hustle and bustle of the city. Located in a beautiful valley, every morning was breathtaking. The host was incredibly helpful when we had a small snafu with the shower not draining. She came over, helped us clean up, offered us wine, and offered to wash/dry any clothing items that got wet. She was so incredibly sweet and I would absolutely stay again based purely on how nice she was. Check-in was a breeze and check-out was just as easy. If you want to stay in a quiet, clean, scenic place just outside of Vik, I cannot recommend Paradise Cottages highly enough. Thanks!! :)"
Black Beach Suites
"This is a beautiful hotel sitting on the side of a vast expanse overlooking a floodplain. The room was spacious and clean. They could have done a better job explaining all of the great additions in the room. The kitchenette was well stocked and we were able to cope a full meal on the induction range. All pots and pans were included along with proper cooking utensils."
Hótel Dyrhólaey
"The hotel is clean, quiet, and in an excellent location. The breakfast offers a good variety of fresh fruit and cold cuts. I would suggest also including plain, unsweetened yoghurt, as during our stay only sweetened yoghurt was available.Overall, we had a wonderful experience and really enjoyed our stay. Thank you!"
Farmhouse Lodge
"Really great place, we stayed in two of the private rooms and loved them. Would have stayed longer if we could have."
Hótel Búrfell
"Taking a shower was causing the bathroom getting wet with water draining from shower curtain into the bathroom"
Giljur Guesthouse
"For a guest house it was quite nice. Two bathrooms, lounge area, good kitchen."
