The Greenhouse Hotel
"Great location and breakfast"
Hotel Selfoss
"We really enjoyed our stay at this hotel. It was a last-minute pivot to book here and we did not regret it. The front desk was very kind and helpful, checking into our room was a breeze, and the bar was a lovely place to unwind and grab a cocktail. It is conveniently located within walking distance of some restaurants and easy to access some activities. A lovely hotel and would stay again!"
ASKA Heiðmörk
"I’d recommend this place for your last night or 2 in Reykjavík, before driving back to the airport. It’s a basic room, comfortable and clean. Some things to note: 1. There is usually no staff onsite. 2. You need to register online as a guest prior to arrival. I did that while on the international flight via wifi. Provide a copy of your identification. Only then will you receive a door access code, and only on the day of your arrival, not days before. Don’t wait until you arrive at the hotel to register. You’ll be stuck in the parking lot like others I saw there. 2. The outside door has an easy to use keypad. Once inside, the door to your room lacks a visible keypad. Tap on the black plastic panel on the room door a few times and a few different ways and the hidden keypad will light up. We and another couple struggled with that at first. 3. The coffee grinder machine was sufficient, but walk across the street to Lindabakari. Great pastry selection and delicious coffee. The weather was sunny (in September) so I walked. It’s in the parking lot with the Bonus grocery store. 4. They only provided 2 medium towels. We stayed 3 nights. I contacted the management via WhatsApp, and they quickly responded that towels were onsite and available. Trying all the doors in the lobby, I found a cart of wash cloths (small), so I took some. We used our beach towels to dry off after a shower (we brought them for the thermal pools). They need to provide several large bath towel per night!"
Inni - Boutique Apartments
"ADORABLE apartments with private outdoor seating area, beautifully decorated, with every convenience, and equipped with everything needed for a cozy stay. Host is very helpful and responsive! Very close to places to eat, shop, and explore. Would definitely return here!"
ION Adventure Hotel, Nesjavellir, a Member of Design Hotels
"Excellent hotel. Beautiful setting. Spa and hot pool was very nice and relaxing, and cocktails are available to order to the pool too. The food was excellent in the restaurant, with very good service. The check in and check out was easy and friendly. The room was high quality, modern, clean with everything we needed. The staff even helped me dry my coat in the drying room after a wet day, which was a great bonus for the stay. Highly recommend."
Hotel Laxnes
"Very quiet area of town outside Reykjavik. Hotel was clean and had plenty of amenities. Only scary part was someone walking into our hotel room at 2am because the door wasn’t closed properly. Didn’t learn till after that you have to lift door for it to properly lock. Overall, was a nice stay"
Reykjadalur Guesthouse
"Located in a nice little city. Easy check inn and check out. No staff on site they send the codes prior to check in. Very simple, parking on site"
Bella Apartments & Rooms
"Very large place, with full refrigerator, stove and microwave - even has a washer and dryer. Heating is in the floor, so slow to adjust to the temperature you want, but calling the property management was helpful in trouble-shooting what we should do to get the place cooler (in September!). Walkable to the new old town section and right across the street from a Netto. Very handy location."
