Staff and location are incredible. The decor in the lobby is gorgeous. The rooms, however, will be judged in one of two ways: 'dated' or 'full of character.' Sure, it was sorta old, but that's the feel of the hotel - historic. It would be awkward if it were ultra modern. Great hotel though. Walking distance to EVERYTHING! I wished we could have stayed longer.”
The house is adorable. It is small but so cozy and lovely. I highly recommend getting the rooms with private bathrooms. Breakfast was plentiful and delicious with wonderful conversation. Dorothy is so accommodating to any dietary restrictions. It felt like we were staying at a friend's home for the weekend. We will definitely stay there again.”
This hotel was a real discovery. Extremely helpful and knowledgeable staff (Ian and Justin) who recommended a great restaurant for dinner as well as organising transport for us around Providence as well as to New Haven. We had a comfortable room but it was somewhat noisy as it was at the front of the hotel on the street so next time I would request a quieter room. Overall however we were delighted with the hotel and would certainly go back there if and when we return to Providence.”
Our family of 6 found the suite with 2 bedrooms spacious and immaculate. We had an ocean view, as we had requested and although there is a busy road nearby the view and atmosphere were quite enjoyable. There were many other guests but no outside noise inside our suite when windows were closed. We especially enjoyed using the rooftop jacuzzi and fire pit open until 11 pm. The hotel is perfectly situated close to Easton's Beach and the Cliff walk, which we took full advantage of. Nearby Altantic Grille has the best breakfast in town! REALLY enjoyed our stay and would definitely go back.”
I stayed here for 2 nights and it was a great value. The room was clean and comfortable. The location was great, as the place I proposed to my girlfriend was right down the street. And downtown Newport was just only 5 mins away. The price was good.”
Hotel was very well located and easy to find. The decor was very 1980's so like many US hotels it is looking dated. It was clean though and clealy got very busy at times owing to its water front location. Shortly after booking in we had to ask for another room because the bathroom plumbing was not functioning very well! We were immediately moved without any problem.”
CONS: The smell in the room when we first walked in was overwhelming to the point where we had to go out and buy our own air freshener. Also the room had obviously not been inspected fully after the last guest checked out because while our 16month old was playing he found wrappers and trash under the bed and behind the couches. Lastly, we went out just about everyday of our stay in RI and there were several days where the house keepers came in and replaced shampoo and toiletries but forgot to change the towels or make the bed or even take out the trash. PROS: the employees at the front desk and the maintenance workers are extremely helpful and very friendly and we were glad to have met them. we were greeted very well and everything we needed (crib, fridge) was in the room within minutes of asking for it. We also enjoyed the complimentary breakfast alomost everyday but especially on our last morning there when we had a 19 hr flight ahead of us. Overall the service was great, the people were great and the room was very comfortable. Will we come back?? maybe if there's improvement in the housekeeping”
The hotel staff were friendly and the hotel looked/smelled clean. I unfortunately stayed an extra 2 nights due to a blizzard, but the staff were accommodating. Overall, I would def stay here again, considering how much I paid versus surrounding hotels.”
Our family went to Rhode Island for the weekend and the accommodations were adequate. We were central to both Providence, Twin Oaks Casino and Rhode Island. The mall was located across the street which was very convenient and there were many eateries in the area. We could not get a rollaway bed as hotel was booked that night. The front desk clerks are wonderful, very welcoming and informative. No pool or exercise room, but we enjoyed our stay. We took the kids to David & Busters and they enjoyed themselves!”

I found the hotel service to be accommodating and extremely friendly. The hotel has a beautiful view and is a short distance from downtown Newport. They have a computer and printer in the lobby for customer use which was extremely helpful for us. Great quality for how much money!”
