I thought the place was great, the service excellent, people were very friendly, the only issue I had was paying 16 dollars a day to park my car. I thought a hotel of this calibre would have complementary parking!”
We got a very reasonable deal from the hotels.com website. I was expecting an average middle of the road hotel but I was pleasantly suprised. The contemporary feel of the hotel lobby carried into the rooms. The room was clean and offered a stand up shower and a tub (which incidentally, had a tv). My only peeve was the slow service at the Rare restaurant for breakfast. There was only a handful of people in the restaurant and it took 45 mins. to get an omelet. Location is great, walking distance to tonnes of shopping, restaurants, bars and all major sports venues. I will definately stay at the Grand again.”
We spent a great weekend at the Days Inn on University. It's closse to all the events we attended. Minnesota State Fair & the Metrodome. The staff were courteous and very helpful. It was a busy time and hotel was full but all guests were treated as royalty. I would recommend this hotel to all.”
Perfect hotel. Staff are super helpful and friendly. Great location to the mall (right across the street but the hotel has a shuttle as well) and airport. Good breakfast. Cookies in the lobby at night. Would defiantly stay again and recommend.”
Overall we had a good experience staying at the Hilton. The rooms were clean, comfortable, and spacious but I was surprised by the poor condition of the bathroom in our room in comparison to other Hiltons that I have stayed at. It was easy to find and located close to the Mall if America and Ikea. The staff were friendly and helpful. One of the days that we were there we could not find parking at the hotel because of other functions happening in the hotel. I would stay here again but would most likely take their shuttle to the mall to avoid issues with parking.”
Great location for getting to and from places. Room was clean and comfortable. Facilities quite good. The only complaint would be the venue for breakfast - sitting around an indoor pool if you couldn't get a seat inside is not ideal an setting.”
We went to Rochester for the Mayo Clinic. The hotel was very convenient. Everything was connected by enclosed walkways...The hotel, all the clinic buildings, the hospital, several other hotels, and a small shopping mall. Once we parked the car on arrival, it never moved until we left. CAUTION, parking has 6ft height limit. All the walkways are extremely well marked and navigation was easy, even for a "first timer." Lastly, the water was great, and the shower in my room had great pressure. We have to go back in April, and we will stay there again.”
The staff was friendly. The rooms were fresh and clean and newly updated. The pool area was also clean and the pool was heated and indoors. The pool depth is between 3ft and5ft. The hot tub was nice too. On site parking and just a block com a coffee shop and a couple of eating places. Defiantly the place to stay for fun or for medical appointments at the Mayo facilities.”
We were satisfied with the cleanliness and location of the hotel. We were in town for a state pool tournament at the civic center. Nice continental breakfast. Only bad thing was that the room keys were supposed to open the outside door, but it never did.”
Hotel was in a great location except the hill in a snowstorm is dicey. Staff were great and offered advise when asked about local amenities. Will be returning to the site, 1 king bed with sitting area was much needed for our getaway.”
Room well appointed, clean, staff at front desk and dining area pleasant neatly dressed, helpful Central location walking distance to restauants and specialty shopping, and lakeside sidewalk Will stay there again”
The common areas are a bit tired/dated, but it's hard to keep large hotels looking fresh without pouring in millions, and frankly I'm not sure that's worth it. Front desk staff were great, the room was clean and comfortable, though not large. Location is decent (about a 15 minute walk to Canal Park). Best part is probably the revolving restaurant - you really do get great views, and in an hour and 12 minutes, you get to see it all!”
