A clean, good hotel in the center. Nothing special about it, as many IBIS hotels it is quite unpersonal. But still a very good hotel nothing.Simple, clean, good rooms.everything you expect from a hotel,”
Great location, great staff, great breakfast, comfortable bed, good shower. Only issue for us was no airconditioning and no flyscreen on windows so we slept with the window shut in stale air. Every city site is in easy walking distance, four blocks to the container mall, three blocks to punitng on the Avon, half a block to the park etc. I would stay again, but with insect repellant sprayed on befere going to sleep.”
This was a convienient apartment for our stay in Auckland, close to concert venue. We used the underground car parking for the apartment, which was reasonably priced at $20. The apartment was quite compact, but had everything we required. There was some noisy air conditioning units outside which meant the window couldn't be left open at night. Overall, good value for Auckland city accomodation. .”
Lovely hotel in a great central location, suitable for singels/family etc, very helpful and friendly staff. comfortable rooms Wide selection of good quality food on offer. Would definately revisit/reccommend to others”
Coach drop off outside the Hotel. Quick and easy bookin. Very large two queen sized bedroom with luggage bench. Clean nd very comfortable. Good on suite BATHroom with shower etc. Balcony with views overlooking the lake. Quiet at night. With in 10 minute walk of restaurants and buzz on waterfront. Fun bar on the sixth floor. Onsite booking with choice for day trip activities. EXPENSIVE wifi but reasonable priced coin operated internet access on the groundfloor. A excellent location and hotel to stay in.”
We were unhappy with two aspects of the food service...room service dinner was below standard, our complaint was responded too in satisfactory manner. Food/bar service staff were inattentive and chose to continue talking among themselves rahter than serve customers....we were not the only people waiting.”
The Scenic was everything I look for in a hotel - the rooms were large, as was the bed, we had a view of the harbour, the room & bathroom were clean and fresh, we couldn't hear any neighbours or road noise, the location is close by to everything in Dunedin and the price was very reasonable. Staff were also friendly and helpful. We would definitely go back. Booking through Hotels.com was also seamless and painless. Altogether a good experience.”
The hotel is good for the price but the bathroom/shower set-up is disconcerting it is a smoked glass quarter circle. Additionally, despite a -Do not disturb sign' being on the door we were awoken at 8am by cleaning stuff knocking and were later told that cleaning staff finished at 11am. Additionally it seemed to be trouble to get fresh towels everyday. There is not much immediately near the hotel but it is only a five minute walk from George St and ten mins from the Octagon. It is clean and tidy and good value but cleaning staff need some customer service training.”
Loved this place. They really do respect 'do not disturb' sign and will leave a basket with essentials outside your door if you've still not surfaced by the time housekeeping hours end. 'Ssssh Kiwi Sleeping' - Loved the sign! It's close to the the centre of town and staff were excellent and friendly. The toilet was occasionally dodgy - would keep running after a flush but a quick push on the half flush button always sorted that.”
Very interesting and classy hotel. We appreciated the newness and cleanliness. Our room was bright and spacious and had a window that opened. We were very comfortable here. The hotel restaurant was very expensive but the pub across the road served tasty, less expensive food. Since we had a car the location was not a big issue. If downtown Nelson is your destination, it is a little out of the way.”
Used this hotel en route to Wilson's Able Tasman tour. Found they worked well with WIlson tours & loved the location next to a lovely park & the shopping & restaurants. Lobby was beautiful with a soothing water feature. Definitely a good choice for my travel up to Able Tasman. Next time will stay a bit longer. Nelson is a very artsy town & would be great to explore some of the art shops.”
If you are looking for charm and character this is the place to stay. A n 1860 style mansion that you do not experience with other stays. you are 5 minutes walk to town. The rooms are just wonderful and Nick the host is full of information about Nelson. see if you can have breakfast in the the ball room it is just great experience. This is great stay and thanks Nick for being such a wonderful host. A must stay whilst in Nelson!”
