We thouroughly enjoyed our stay, The kids had a great time, it was very family orientated and it was also very relaxing. Kids and parentsare well catered for. The family room was very clean and spacious. Food was good and the staff were very helpful. The hotel was very convenient to Kilkenny city. Would go back again. The only complaint we had was the water temterature in the pool was a bit on the cool side, whilst the parents could enjoy the lovely outside hot tub the kids found the pool a wee bit chilly.”
Only fault was that they seemed to forget about us on the second day. We stayed two nights. We weren't on the breakfast list, and room service didn't come to change sheets or do a turn turn on our second day, and they didn't seem to have record of us when we checked out. In relation to the room cleaning, we could rang reception to request it, but by the time we realised they'd we been forgotten about, it was already late into the evening and we winding down. Otherwise, we had a great stay and can't really fault the place.”
Enjoyed our stay of two nights on a very busy bank holiday weekend, The majority of staff were extremely friendly and helpful, however unfortunately the bar staff in o'reillys bar let the rest of the hotel staff down by being totally disinterested in their job and avoided making eye contact with customers, and the bar food on Saturday night left a lot to be desired. The food in the al la carte restaurant on Sunday night was great and the staff very helpful and attentive. Overall we enjoyed our stay and would stay with you again and recommend the hotel to friends and family.”
If you're looking for a clean, tidy, comfortable hotel with secured parking ( cars can be parked in gated enclosure ) you can't really go wrong. It's better value than many of the older alternatives along the Quays and is well maintained. Staff are friendly and it is walking distance to night life and city centre. It has easy access to roads leading to the coastal villages such as Dunmore East and beaches including Woodstown. Request a room with a view of the river, as the opposite view is a parking lot. We were on the 1st floor and could not hear noise from the pub below, which is a great deal better than many places I've stayed.”
My two friends and i had a very enjoyable stay in the Fitzwilton. The standard of service was excellent as was the standard of room furnishings ,linen and towels being of a very high quality. The only complaint we would have had was at the very beginning . We arrived at three for check in ,the time specified on our reservation , but did not get our room for at least another hour. The reason given was that the hotel had been full the night before but as check out is at 12am it was difficult to see how rooms could not have been ready. However we quickly forgot any irritation when we encountered the friendliness and helpfullness of the staff ,the comfort of our room and the superb breakfast served. I would have no hesitation in recommending this hotel to friends.”
The hotel is very well situated on its own island and is easily accessible by car from Waterford city. The hotel itself is very old world, but well maintained. If you're looking for a break in a modern hotel, this isn't for you. It's almost like a step back in time. Food was very good, however, we did feel that it was over priced. I would recommend this hotel for a short stay, but be prepared to pay at the higher end of the market.”
I was overcharged for Breakfast and if i hadent noticed it would have probably not have been rectified . They charged me for 4 berakfasts ,i only stayed 2 nights in a SINGLE ROOM , and the breakfast at 10euro was only passable anyway .However i spotted it in time and was refunded 20euros.Otherwise the evening meal and everything else was good ,.”
My stay in Whites Hotel was terrfic. Food and service was first rate.Credit to the staff they were there for whatever you needed. and always a smile I will go back there again maybe Sept -Oct. Please send me any special offers as Iam very interested.”
the only thing that can be faulted in this hotel is the lack of service. When we checked in we asked what time they were serving food till we were kindly told by a girl, to which we later found out that she was a waitress in the restaurant, we asked should we book and we were told no it would be ok. Arriving at the room we could not open the bathroom door! We were moved to another room with no hassle. Went down for dinner, the girl who had previously told us that there was no need to book told us that we should have booked! We were seated and handed a menu, with nothing explained to us, no offering of a drink, nothing just left us to it. After approx 15mins a man finally came to us to take our order. As I work in a 4* hotel myself I know how important it is to have good customer service skills and I did not see this with any of the staff in the hotel. When we went down for breakfast, not a staff member in sight. After 10mins a man and woman came out from a back room, we asked for two full Irish breakfasts. What we got was certainly not two full Irish breakfasts! This mini brakfast cost us €20 excluding cereal tea or coffee! If your not fussy about service then this hotel is the place for you, but when you work in a 4* hotel yourself service is the key to a successful business.”

Was on business, so it did nicely. Some fittings in the room were a little tired (grouting around the toilet needed some work, as well as a shampoo holder in the shower), but the room was very clean and I liked the atmosphere of the hotel. I'd definately stay there again.”
