Stayed at the Renaissance August 2011 and we were extremely pleased! Wonderful location- within walking distance to all the major sights. Great hotel staff- very friendly and helpful. And very, very beautiful hotel!! Our room was very clean and the hotel itself was awesome! Cannot think of a single thing I disliked. I would definitely recommend this hotel to anyone!”
Very comfortable hotel close to most places in the city you need to get to. Can walk to the museums in 15 minutes or take a tram nearby. Staff are friendly and helpful and everyone speaks English. There is even a nice new pub located a block away if you want some local flavour!”
Let me start of buy saying that I have stayed in 3 different hotels in Amsterdam and this is my overall favorite. The location is absolutely fantastic! The hotel itself has a few things lacking but that is understandable considering the fact that that is how it is (at this price) over here. The view is great, proximity fantastic. The room has no fridge and there are no smoking rooms. Enjoy your stay.”
A great hotel in a superb location. Really clean and comfortable. Only slight grumble was lack of English speaking TV channels - I don't want rolling news on BBC/CNN etc. But that is so slight a grumble I would certainly stay here again!”
The hotel was definitely nice, clean, and comfortable. Only stayed for a night. Didn't do the breakfast since it seemed rather pricey (13 euros). The only minus point was the location of the hotel - it's about a 20 min walk from the city center of Haarlem. We ended up taking the bus (bus 300) in and out of the city which was a bit inconvenient as the bus is 2 euros each way. The hotels within city center are pricier though, so if you don't mind the walking/bus than this hotel will do for the more budget conscious. If Haarlem is your last stop on your Europe excursion, bus 300 goes straight to Schipol airport (about 40 min w/o traffic) so it can work out nicely transportation wise.”
I took this hotel because of great rate from the site here. I was very pleased when I arrived - the room size was more to North American expectations. Other reviews had suggested that the hotel furnishings were dated. I would agree, but everything was in good condition. The bathroom was a little tired looking, but fine. The bed was very comfortable. I don't spend much time in hotel rooms when travelling, so it suited my needs very well. The only thing lacking was wireless internet. It is a cab ride from the train station, and then once there, a short walk to the other end of the centrum.”
This is a very good hotel for staying, we liked it very much. We stayed over there for four nights in March 2011. The hotel is beautiful, especially the exterior. The hotel is bit far from the Amsterdam city, but well connected by trains to Amsterdam central station as well as to Schiphol airport. The hotel is in the middle of a construction site, however, it was not a problem for us (and this will change in near future). Hotel staffs are nice and friendly. The only thing we disliked about the hotel is the entrance of the hotel from the side of Zaandam rail-station. First, the entrance is hard to find, no direction is there; second, the entrance door is badly designed, we stuck twice with trolly-bags there!”
The Park Plaza hotel in Amsterdam was very nice and conveniently located to the center of town. The free shuttle to and from the airport was a huge plus! Its only a 10 minute walk to the tram that takes you right to town. The hotel staff was very friendly and gave us very great advise as to what to do on our short trip visiting Amsterdam. My only complaint about our stay were the uncomfortable pillows provided which were too big and fluffy.”
excellent value, very welcoming and accommodating reception staff. restaurants within hotel were friendly and great food. shuttle bus to and from airport fast and free. so glad i stayed here for my very early flight the next morning”
There is a free shuttle bus between the hotel and Schiphol Airport. The staff are friendly and cooperative. The rooms are just fine for an overnight stay, before or after a long flight. We would stay there again.”
