Decent hotel, mainly for business travelers. Clean, quite, the service at the reception was very helpfull. The TV was samll and old and only soup is provided in the bathroom, but generally saying would recommend this hotel for short stay”
nice clean hotel, bit dated but absolutely lovely helpful staff. room nice and warm even in the minus 17 weather. some nice eating places within walking distance, and old centre within walking distance. would stay again.”
Great hotel, great spa facillities (although then can be bit possesive about their towels if you don't bring them from your room), shame there were no tea/coffee facillities in room and room service stopped at 10, no options for late night snack and no shops around as alternative. Other then that all good!”
I have stayed at this hotel a number of times now as it is of a very high standard. The staff are always very friendly and helpful- the hotel and rooms very clean and tastefully decorated, with modern comfortable fittings. I would recommend to anyone.”
Ok perhaps situated too far from the town centre on foot, but a great hotel with friendly staff and clean rooms. The bland breakfast can be forgiven when you have such friendly service and good hotel features.”
This hotel is in a nice secluded area near the small town of Ugchelen, Nl., about 10km from Apeldoorn proper, but only 1km from the ramps for the A1 Motorway. On check-in, I opted to pay upfront, but when I saw the bill I immediately knew it was way too high and the bill did not break down the charges - just one big total. I mentioned it was very high, but the Receptionist said it was OK. I'm not Einstein, but I can do math... Next, we go to our room (089), and it was one of those new style rooms with the open bathroom concept. For our mature, non-related party of 3, this was totally unacceptable, and a room change was a must. So added to the bill discrepancy, this was not a good start. They were very accomodating getting us a normal room (154), but my concern is that I had emailed the hotel directly regarding this very thing two weeks before I left home, never received a reply, and *still* got the type of room I didn't want! Not a good way to do business. Also, they charged a very high fee for WiFi access. Considering the high prices to start with, this was the only hotel in 14 days in Europe that charged for this service. Even a little hotel in Meix-Sur-Virton in Belgium had free wireless internet. We opted to use the phone here. It was cheaper! The restaurant and bar were excellent, and the staff very good & courteous. Food was excellent as well. They offer a full buffet-style breakfast which was also excellent, with as much as you can eat, and North Americans will love the change from the normal bread, cold-cuts and cheese routine you seem to get at most other hotels in Europe. We asked nicely for an itemised bill, as I was sure there was an error, and sure enough, on check-out I was given back a fair chunk of cash as they had charged me for 4 nights instead of 3, and 2 extra persons instead of one. I was thankful for their refund and honesty, but have to wonder what would have happened had we not requested the itemised bill? I would like to think they would”
from arriving at the hotel, the reception was above average, very professional and courteous. The next morning at breakfast the waiter went out of his way to do his best to assist with my dietary constraints. The next morning he remember me and had more options discussed with the chef. All in all a very pleasant stay - room was clear, spacious with ample room for 2 large suitcases. The bathroom is a one person size but that's fine. Food at breakfast was fine. Very pleasantly surprised with this hotel. cheers.”
