Hotel was great. Found the Port like a construction site....no fault of the hotel,of course. Would definately stay again as the pool was beautiful. Only comment of criticism would be that the Room service menu was limited and unimaginative. Y H”
The hotel room had good space, very clean and modern but the air conditioning didn't work right and because it was only a velux attic window we which didn't open we were very stuffy and closed in. The reception staff were very helpful with all our requests. However there wasn't time for them to get the air con fixed correctly as we were only stayihng overnight.”
We had an amazing time at this hotel. The pool and outside lounging area were incredibly relaxing. The hotel's restaurant was one of the best we've ever eaten at. A few minutes from the beach and a nice park is also nearby.”
What a wonderful little hotel - of the boutique kind. Narrow winding passage ways, taking you up and down stairs. Which is a little claustophobic. Even our room had stairs to the bathroom. Also, the beds in France don't have top sheets, only quilts, which I find a bit hot - the hotel was quick to fix this and provided us a sheet on request on the first night, and with yet another request made up the bed with a sheet on the second night. But it is fresh and clean and quiet - even though our room faced the main drag. The best thing is that just outside the door there are about 20 restaurants, cafes and bars - spoilt for choice.”
Our stay was very pleasant. Had very nice dinner in hotel one night. Hotel is 2 blocks from regional train station which we took from Marseille Airport (45 min), vs. TGV train station, further away, reachable by a bus). Bought breakfast food and water at mini/City Carrefour 2 blocks down main street (next to McDonalds) and filled up mini on refrigerator, as hotel breakfast was EUR 16 per person. Hotel is off Avenue de la Republique. This main street starts to become seedy starting 6:00 pm. Several people did not recommend going out at dark. We ate earlier dinners at bistrots near hotel due to this. Lap pool on roof. Parts of hotel do not have access to an elevator. Had to lug our luggage up 18 stairs. Very charming hotel and would return again. Used Avignon as base to visit Aix-en-Provence via bus (1 1/4 hours); took a mini van tour to Les Baux, and St. Remy and Pont du Gard. Very helpfuland friendly management.”
Regina is a great value for the money. The description is a little outdated, pay wifi only in the rooms, free in the lobby, other than that, as described, good value for a European hotel. Americans who are not experienced will find key amenities missing, primarily A/C, but for the money paid, it wasn't missed at this time of year, the nights cool off just fine.”
Nice, almost new, hotel. Good breakfast. Friendly and welcoming staff. Showers are small. Quite a walk to the centre of town (over a mile). Best to have a car. Located near to a McDonalds, Quick and Buffalo Grill, in an out-of- town and not attractive, commercial estate. I will stay here again.”
This converted convent has everything - comfort, character, beautiful gardens, charming rooms and friendly and helpful staff. It is also literally a stone's throw from the old centre of Arles - five minutes walk from the Amphitheatre and right across the road from restaurants and coffee shops. The only negative was that it was difficult to park on arrival as the small drive-in area in front of hotel was full, however when we eventually did find a space down the road the staff re-parked the car and had it ready for us outside the hotel when we were leaving. Top class overall.”
Zabou was welcoming and personable. Location is great for visiting surrounding villages, modern rooms with a/c, common areas are upscale. A good stay !”
