It is hard to review this hotel because over all we were very pleased with it but for one thing. Our room was on the 5th floor and on the first night we were kept awake by a VERY loud vibrating noise that started about 10pm and went off at about 5am. We complained the next mornning and were moved to a room a couple of doors away but it started up again, just not so loud. It turned out that we were under the rooftop swimming pool and they ran the pool filter at night. Stay there but make sure your room is below level 5.”
The hotel's location can't be bettered. It is right outside the Golden Temple which is the main interest in Amritsar. The surrounding streets are as usual crowded with tourist shops selling the usual rubbish. There is a Dominos within easy walking distance. The site of the famous massacre is also a very easy walk from the hotel The hotel room was fine and the room had it's own hot water system which is convenient. The staff were courteous and efficient. I would stay here again.”
Traveling with a Tibetan Lama , a Doctor, and a young teacher this hotel was a most welcome place to rest and relax during our brief stay in Amaristar. In the early morning we walked in the neighborhood and then enjoyed a delicious breakfast buffet. They even provided us with an early breakfast before we caught a 7 am train on our departure. Plan to make this my hotel in Amaristar.”

Even though I have rated this hotel as very good, it did have a downside to it. The hotel holds wedding receptions/parties on the night letting off extremely loud music till 4a.m. I complained and had my room changed to the other side. This should be clearly explained to anyone booking.”

The hotel Maya is a very confortable hotel. The restaurant and bar are really good. The staff in the hotel are very friendly and welcoming. The only thing that was missing for me it was a more organized activities and sight seeing in the local area. It would have being nice to have the opportunity to get to know the city a little better if the hotel had a travel/sight seeing desk in the hotel as I think Jalandhar city have a lot to show to it's visitors.”
Situated as a tall tower in some nowhere land. Outside Ludhiana which is a small city but is overcrowded, mismanaged and terrible for commuting in any vehicle. This hotel is perfectly managed with latest technology, Very purpose built rooms. I was surprised to find the standards to be very good. The service was Excellent and the staff was friendly and effectively fast. My only concern is that it's outside the city and in you have to travel to many places it will bother you to reach back every evening . In case you have set points of visit you cannot get a better stay than this at the mentioned room rent. Overall, I recommend this clean and well built hotel.”
This is a good hotel, ideal for those that have business in Ludhiana especially as the wireless connection is free to residents. The rooms are a good size, clean and comfortable but you could hear your neighbour through the walls unless like us you had an end room and could only hear one side . The bathroom has a nice size walk in shower but the towels are a bit grey rather than bright white, but they were clean, the hair-dryer too is a bit old fashioned and not very powerful. On arrival the air conditioning did not function properly, it was too warm even on maximum, but it was soon sort of fixed, however if it was the height of summer, the traveller may find it inadequate. The staff are helpful and friendly and there are several good restaurants to choose from which are reasonably priced. The outdoor swimming pool is of a good size, but was closed for a couple of days when we were there but we were able to use it on several occasions during our stay. The pool surround needs attention as there are broken grills and drain covers around the pool , so care would need to be taken especially when sitting with children. I used the hair saloon and had an excellent manicure, but the surroundings within could be improved, it was far from luxurious. There are some good shops within walking distance of the hotel and a new supermarket within 10 minutes walk and the area seems safe to walk in the day.”
We visited Ludhiana to attend two weddings. The staff in reception, bar and restaurants were first class. The Indian restaurant food was high quality. As with many hotels in India the immediate neighbourhood is unattractive but this did not detract from our visit.”
