Hotel was great, however the reception desk staff were very unhelpful and while we could speak some French, they were not willing to help us Australians. Pool was superb as well as the gym. Very clean. Short walk to the train station. Don't take a taxi. Great location. Restaurant was fabulous. I highly recommend the madagascar prawns.”
The hotel and staff were excellent. The hotel clerk mentioned a local event that was scheduled to happened the day we checked in. What a beautiful event that took place at the Notre Dame cathedral in Reims.”
The hotel is so close to the train station I could have walked but did not know that so took a cab (low cost). The hotel is also close to the centre of the city (streets lined with cafes and shops), and main sights, but is on a quiet street. Staff were very welcoming and helpful, spoke English well. The room was very nice - simple, clean, with a comfortable bed, TV, and the bathroom had a soaker tub (!) as well as a shower. I woudl definately go back to this hotel.”
We have now used this hotel twice as a stop-over driving between London and the French Alps. We found it excellent in both cases. We were given the two interconnecting rooms that we requested, which were extremely spacious modern and clean. Our pet French poodle was made welcome as well. The hotel is about 10 minutes' walk from some excellent restaurants (we found them better than the ones attached to the hotel). Highly recommended.”
Hotel staff very friendly and helpful. Not the most luxurious hotel in Epernay, but let me tell you something: the cleanness and staff made this stay a memorable one. Close to all main Caves. The gentleman at the reception just happy to explain all tours and help me book what I choose better. Stayed on a 4 star hotel in Bordeaux and it does NOT compare in satisfaction. I guess the human factor odes make a lot of difference in the end.”
--Old Mercier mansion. Our first stay was in a ground floor has rooms with its own entrance, and the second stay was on the 2nd (3rd) floor with its own terrace. Beautifully furnished. --Small pool suitable for a quick cooling dunk, with sun terrace. Check out the bonsai'd bougainvilla!! --The breakfast was really superb, and the conservatory room where is was served was a joy to sit in. Allow plenty of time to enjoy breakfast. --On-site parking. Easy and interesting walk into town (15 min). --Extremely helpful staff who spoke English to us (sorry that our French is so bad!) and helped us with dinner suggestions and Champagne house tours. --Wireless internet worked fine on our second stay, though there was a problem on our first visit (iPad would connect, but MacBooks wouldn't). They are getting an upgraded system in 6 mo.-1 yr. --Not cheap, but I think we got what we paid for! Would stay here again (and did!)”
This hotel is well situated and everything was good except the 2 female reception staff that we encountered. The "welcoming" one was surley but efficient but the young lady that appeared responsible for breakfast arrangements and handled out check out was just blatantley rude. A quick course in customer care urgently required.”
Very welcoming couple in a charming tea room hotel. Delicious breakfast ,safe parking, and near some excellent restaurants. If you are passing through this region, do yourselves a favour and stay at La Maison de Marie Caroline.”
We had a really nice time at the ibis. We went with our 11 month old baby and staff were very helpful to accommodate all our needs. Breakfast was really good. The only downside was that the bedroom was small especially with a travel cot in the room.”
