Great hotel. Nice and clean, and in a fantastic location in a surprisingly charming city. Would definitely stay here again. Only potential negatives are that the rooms get a little stuffy (but the area is quiet enough to open your windows and still be able to sleep), and the hotel requests that you turn in your key each time you leave. Also, one day our room was cleaned despite the fact that we had the "do not disturb" sign out. No big deal and the positives far outweigh the negatives!”
We stayed as a birthday break for my husband to visit Ypres and the WW1 cemetaries and museums. The location was fantastic and convienient to drive to all the relevant sites. It was also easy to get to from the Eurotunnel and the facilities, service and bistro/restaurant were excellent. We would certainly go again and would recommend the hotel to anyone. Absolutely first class!”
This hotel, an older traditional style was in a great location. First time visitors to France we walked the 15min to the hotel from Eurostar, however there was a metro at the end of the street, and tourist bureau and loads of eateries close by. Hotel room was spacious and quiet, the en suite was roomy. The staff were pleasant and helpful. King bed was super comfy. Breakfast had lots of choice but was additional cost to room. Room was very clean, but had a slight odour of smoking? Ask for room at back of hotel when booking, quieter. Overall, we would stay again and recommend.”
We stayed at the Campanile in Calais before catching the car ferry to Dover. We booked the room 2 days ahead and took a triple room with 3 single beds as it was the last room available on hotels.com. However, after checking in early, we went to the room to find it contained 2 single beds and that there did not appear to be any extra room. We returned to reception to discover that the third single was a pull out. After expressing concern that there was no room for a third bed, we were offered a double room - again with a pull out bed. This turned out to be quite adequate and we took the room happily. Beds, linen and bathroom were very good and clean. We ate dinner and breakfast in the hotel. We had an excellent evening meal. They had an excellent buffet for starters and dessert, which we combined with the main course dish of the day. With house wine and coffee it came to under 50 euros for 2 adults. Breakfast was also a buffet - it was slightly expensive compared to others we had but children eat free so it worked out cheaper. Finding the hotel was relatively straightforward but it's great advantage was how quick it was to get to the ferry - about 5 minutes. Overall, the staff were very helpful and we would definitely return to this hotel whilst our son is young enough to share the room.”
I loved the location of the hotel. The restaurants around it were very nice, but pricey. So, for those requiring food when you get there keep in mind. The port is 10 minutes away, and the personnel was very helpful. Even though i only had to spend only one night i was very pleased!”
We used to stay here when it was George V but it has much improved but still has the secure parking area at the rear, which is the reason we chose as our car was full of wine from our visit to Auchan. Very helpful staff, clean and quiet. Located right in the main street with good local restaurants on doorstep. Main street has been much improved too,. Will definitely stay there again.”
We booked this hotel as a one night stopover. It's one mile from Calais so very convenient if crossing the channel. Underground secure parking (10 euros) is available and was important for us with a bootfull of suitcases etc. The room was comfortable. We had a double bed and a double sofa bed for our kids (which was not great but the kids didn't notice!). The showeroom door was lethal though - the door swings and shuts to close off the WC and I trapped my finger (as did the people in the next room). Beware for small children. Snacks are available at the hotel bar and there are also plenty of places you can eat nearby (a couple of minutes walk). Breakfast was basic but sufficient and included in the price. Overall, very convenient, good location and a good price. Would stay there again.”
Very handy to the train Station, downtown and car rental. The only complaint was that the beds made our backs sore. The hotel was handy to car rental (Europcar) that we used to travel to the World War Cemeteries.”
This hotel is very nice and clean, however due to its location on the outside of Arras I would say that it is better suited to business trips rather than leisure trips. Although the drive to Arras town centre was only 5 mins. We would definatly stay here again.”
Very pleasant stay . Hotel was in a perfect location. Not far from Calais - lots of golf courses in the surrounding area. A dream if you love cycling as it very flat & plenty of places to go to. Easy to walk into the town centre from here with a huge amount of restaurants & lots of small shops to nose about in. A very large market as well to walk around.”
very handy situated for the "cente Ville" if you like walking ( about 1 mile from the centre the leisure facilities are very good and open at realisitic hours however, we found the lack of tea making equipment a let down, and the in house breakfast quite expensive”
The Hotel was easy to find, the staff were excellent, very helpful. The breakfast buffet was excellent. The room was a little small for a twin-bedded one and the bath/shower did not have a high level mount for the shower head.”
