excellent hotel, one of the best for sound insulation ever ensuring good nights rest, despite being right in the city centre. Very good location at back of polygone shopping mall and 5 mins. walk to city centre, 10 mins. to main train station. Nespresso in room!! English spoken.”
Nice hotel with a wonderful breakfast worth the extra charge for the pushbutton expresso & fresh squeezed orange juice alone, free wifi and reasonably priced parking garage. Rooms clean and compact. Location convenient near the Antigone.”
My room was expensive and well worth it. For a female traveling alone I want to be in a good area (safe) close to transportation and close to things to do. This hotel has all of the above. The rooms are clean and the batheoom was impeccable.”
The hotel was EXTREMELY well located for access to La Cite as well as La Bastide of Carcassonne. We couldn't find the pool, but that is just an aside. the staff were friendly, the rooms were adequate for what we wanted - very good, hot showers, clever layout of separate bathroom and toilet. we didn't eat in the restaurants, and missed a room kettle for tea and coffee. every morning it was a joy to wake up and see the view of La Cite, so was happy to pay a bit extra for that. bit of a nuisance that we would have had to ask Reception for the key to the mini-bar - this was only told to us as we were leaving, but that meant we got to spend our money on other things. also the location of the hotel near the bus stop for transfers to the airport was FANTASTIC!”
This is what you would expect of a 3-star Mercure hotel in terms of comfort and cleanliness, although having stayed at many other Mercure 3-stars across France, I would rate this one as a 3-star +, or even a 4-star experience, based on overall attention to detail, quality of food, the staff, amenities and location. Clean hotel, friendly and accommodating staff with excellent English standards (not always so in Mercure hotels elsewhere I have found). By way of example of their helpfulness, I wanted to extend one extra night but they were fully booked for a conference, however they called the organizer to reconfirm whether all reserved rooms where required and secured my extension. Good restaurant with some nice wines all good value for the quality. Try the Cabardès from vineyards just outside of Carcassonne and more expensive but superb Pic Saint-Loup from further north-west in Languedoc. Simple menu with a great salad selection you choose yourself and a nice grilled duck. However, personally,I found the cassoulet (the famous local bean and meat stew) a little too thin in comparison to elsewhere in the region. However, with World Heritage site La Cité just 5 minute walk away, there are many other good choices for dining both indoors and outdoors, while Carcassonne's centre ville is a leisurely 10-15 minute stroll away. The only criticism I have with the hotel are the pillows that are the typical relatively flat, square ones common throughout most of Europe. The hotel has no alternative, so although I'm usually quite adaptable, I found these particular ones rather uncomfortable for me sleeping. But overall, a good value hotel in the price range in a great location.”
Lovely helpful lady on reception. Although has late check in, hotel very happy for you to leave your car in their car park during day. Excellent location, fab pizza cafe just down the road - same side of road toward city. Note the hotel doesn't have quite the same name on the street signage - a little confusing. The only gripe we had about the room is an extremely hard bed, which I guess may suit, some!”
The hotel itself is gorgeous, very deceiving from the outside - they certainly succeeded at keeping the original look. The room is beautiful, gorgeous bathroom, the parking is great. A little difficult to get into, considering the street is closed for construction and we had to use a different route. However, for a small town hotel, it is extremely expensive to have a meal there - either breakfast or dinner. The dining room was always empty, except for a business meeting one night. We always eat breakfast on site, but not here - even though we could afford it, it was totally unreasonable for a very simple breakfast, but they did make it look fancy. We went elsewhere & ate for 4 euros. They really should cater a little more to their clientelle.”
A wonderful spot to relax after a hectic day sightseeing. The gardens are lovely. The location of the hotel is for travellers who have rented a car or love to walk. The bus stop that takes you into the centre of Avignon is a 10 minute walk through the narrow streets of the town, cost 1.20 Euros one way, but stops running at 7:00 p.m. If you are in Avignon the only transportation back to the hotel is by cab.”
e had a lovely stay at Les Cedres . Christophe , the owner was so welcoming and gave us useful tips for our visit to Avignon. We stayed in an apartment next to the swimming pool , very comfortable, good restaurant. We had a car there is a park and ride service which made visiting Avignon very easy , a fantastic city, so much to see!”
Flew from Bristol to Beziers and stayed for sunny 5 days in December and had a wonderful time. The hotel was clean and comfortable, warm and secure and only a few minutes walk from the bus station where the airport bus which meets Ryanair flights leaves and arrives. Do go to the Tourist Office map and take a walk along the Canal du Midi and the museums. Easy transport by bus or train to other places. The hotel neighbourhood felt safe but a wander, by day, through the old city is recommended for its sleazy elegance. Would try other Appart'city hotels again and would also return to Beziers - they are really useful for economicall stays in an increasingly expensive country.”
Wonderful hotel. The staff was extremely helpful (and spoke very good English). The room was clean, beautiful and quiet. The shower was fantastic. And the organic breakfast buffet the next morning was a nice change of pace. I'd stay there again in a heartbeat.”
I stayed at Le Fonserane for 7 days. There isn't much to say about the apartment; it's clean and quite and worth for the price you pay. The only problem would be the location. If you are planning to go to Beziers for a conference that is in the city then it'd be better to find a hotel in the city centre. Last public transport is at 8pm and it costs about €15 to get to the apartment from the city centre by taxi.”
