I really enjoyed this hotel... I had a single room, which was quite small on first glance, but had everything I needed. Great location for the train station. Breakfast was very good & substantial- alot of variety... I stayed there in early February when it was snowing & my room was always very warm... Staff friendly, especially the breakfast staff & cleaners. Reception staff are friendly although could smile a little more My only complaint was about the pillows- very soft & uncomfortable!”
This is an excellent hotel located right next to the main airport terminal yet you would never know that you were were there with the quietness. The huge and tasteful atrium is very zen. The rooms are spatious and well equipped, as you would expect of a 5* hotel. This is my third visit for the Oktoberfest there. The S bahn rail service from the airport to the city centre is also excellent.”
Great location can walk just a few blocks to train station, able to wheel my lugage to train station. Short walk to downtown historic Munich and Oktoberfest. Room was very small and bathroom even smaller but nice enough to stay a short visit at. Breakfast buffet was good, better than some that had during our week in Germany.”

VERY NICE HOTEL with convenient access to the airport (5 min.). Excellent restaurant. Biergarten and restaurant service was very good with reasonable prices (even allowed us to share a dinner without any hassle). 8 euro/person charge for van to airport, but all of the hotels charge it so you just have to grin and bear it! Enjoyed our stay and would definitely stay again!”
A couple of things...it would have been nice to have a coffee maker in the room...something that we didn't see too much of in Europe, but if we had one in Neufahrn we might have considered staying there again in the future. The hotel personnel could have advised us better re transportation. We were there for two nights before we realized that the bus ran right in front of our hotel, each direction. We ended up taking a taxi to and from the train station about 1 1/4 of a mile away for 20 Euros, and we could have taken the bus for less than 2 Euros per person...a waste of our good money.”
Yes the Red light district is only one street down, but never was a problem for us. Rooms are great size and have a nice big Bathroom. The signs for the Hotel ,coming out from the U-Bahn (very close) are confusing and will get you lost. All the sightseeing in Old Town Nuernberg are in walking distance.”
The hotel staff was exceedingly helpful and friendly. The hotel is very clean and our room was very comfortable. Although it is a little out of town, it only took about 5-10 minutes to drive to the city center and was very close to transit stops. Highly recommend!”
I stayed with my wife + son (age 17) en route to Bayreuth; we got a late flight from the UK so decided to stay over and make our onward travel the next day. The hotel is literally across the road from the terminal building so an easy walk (i.e. no taxis or buses). When we arrived there were also a few others checking in but only one person on the desk so this is an aspect they should look to improve. Also the double room only had one set of towels, bed sheets etc but we notified reception and this was rectified quickly. Pricewise the single room cost the same as the double which was rather disappointing, though in total the cost wasn't too bad. One tip for others, if you don't want the full (and expensive) Movenpick breakfast, try one of the cafes in the terminal building.”
This hotel was wonderful...my wife and I really enjoyed our stay. No vehicle is needed, short walking distance to everything you need. The view of the Zugspitze from our room was simply awesome. The staff was most helpful and catered to our every need. This hotel has such character, I must return. My thanks to the staff and hotel for a great weekend. If you are visiting Garmisch, GE you really must check it out...you will not be disappointed.”
Overall the stay was very good. The hotel employees were very curtious and informative about the surrounding area and attractions. The hotel's resturaunt was a little expensive but the service was good. I highly recomend the breakfast buffet, but make sure you pay upfront when you are booking or you will pay more in person.”
This was my first stay in Garmisch and at this hotel. The room was quaint with a reasonable view of mountain scenery but not necessarily a "knock you out" view considering this was a "superior" room. Room was clean and comfortable. Shower was powerful with plenty of hot water after a long day of wondering the streets of Garmisch. Staff was very friendly and helpful; including finding me in the hotel to let me know the trunk of my car was open. (Apparently an inadvertent key fob button push.) The only downside was a bit of "late night exhuberance" that I could occassionally here from nearby establishments which was pretty much quieted down by 11:00PM; which isn't bad for a Saturday night. I intend to return to Garmisch later this summer with my wife and will not have any concerns with booking a room at the Wittelsbacher again.”
