Located ion the heart of the Town but with a good car park this hotel is ideal for a visit to Assisi.Once there you can do everything on fott...there are plenty of restaurants in Assisi but on of the best is right here in this hotel. Also there is an extensive Lounge /Terrace area with a bar to relax in after wandering through the very hilly streets.A real find is this hotel and well worth the small premium you pay over others nearby.”
The Hotel Fontebella is a very nice place to stay in Florence. Within convenient walking distance of most of the major museums and churches in the city, we found our room to be very clean and quiet, and the staff to be very helpful. Our one complaint was that, during the cool October nights, the heat had not yet been turned on and our room became chilly soon after dark.”
This was a 5 minute drive from Asissi, where the hotels are twice as expensive. Cool camp ground atmosphere. Lots of pilgrims. Good, cheap food in the restaurant. This was a good find. Wifi was not free.”
The Relais Ducale was perfect in all ways. The staff very wisely and helpfully explained how to bring the car up through the alleyways and unload our suitcases, then park nearby. The room was simply beautiful-- thoughtfully and creatively furnished. Gubbio itself is a gem, and this hotel made it possible for us to enjoy the city to the full.”
I would not hesitate to recommend this hotel to anyone. Hotel Gattepone is wonderfully situated in the centre of Gubbio, very convenient for the sights , shops and transport. We had terrific views from our top-floor window (there is a lift!). All the staff were friendly and helpful and the breakfasts were substantial, with excellent service. The city itself is most interesting; the unique 'Tavole Eugubine' in the Palazzo dei Consoli are not to be missed and we were overwhelmed to see the reconstruction of the studiolo in the Palazzo Ducale, the original of which is in the Metropolitan Museum, New York.I loved every minute of our stay there, and if we have the good fortune ever to return to Gubbio I would certainly book into Hotel Gattapone.”
We had a very pleasant two night's stay at the hotel. The breakfast room is lovely and service very good. Our first evening was very quiet, but the second evening had the bell of the church ringing almost the whole night. Overall good reception and location. Parking also near the hotel. Rooms very clean and also felt very safe to walk anywhere in the evenings.”
We had a wonderful stay at this delightful hotel. The staff, most of whom spoke excellent English, were friendly, polite and very attentive. Although the hotel was fully booked for our week, there was such a feeling of peace and tranquility both in and around the hotel garden and pool area. In fact, for much of our stay we had the pool to ourselves. We chose to stay on a half board basis and are glad that we did so. The restaurant is laid out beautifully and the four course Umbrian menu offered plenty of choiceand was cooked to a very high standard. We found that had we chosen to eat out in the evening the cost would have been considerably more expensive when compared to the cost of including the dinner option to our stay. Citta della Pieve is an ideal base for touring Umbria and we were able to visit Lake Trasimeno, Assisi and Orvieto with ease. Our hotel, which was a 5 minute walk from the town centre, was the perfect choice for us.”
